It doesn't really sound like there was a downturn, just no upturn...

It seems like the problem they have experienced is there are only so many customers, little to no customer growth and with what seems like a new bar opening every few weeks there just aren't enough customers to go around. When you couple that with them straying from their core business model and lack of upkeep/maintenance of the machines and people are just going elsewhere...

We tried to stop in there one night and they wanted a cover. I wanted to check it out and play some drunk Donkey Kong or whatever. . We just laughed our way back down to the casinos. 4 dudes who are professional drinkers. They lost some money that night, no surprise...

Stopped in last Friday night, the place was dead and half of the games didn't work. Also they had significantly less games in there than a year ago.

Looks like more than a simple business closure going on!

Too bad. I remember Insert Coins doing well when it first opened. In fact, the first time I went there I gave up trying to get in because of the long line. But, the last few times I've been by there this year it's been slow.

I was there on St. Patty's day. The bartenders were really nice. Seemed like they were trying to make it a nightclub instead of a lounge. They didn't make me pay a cover that night. I had a great time playing some games I hadn't seen since my youth. I had walked by it other times and saw a line and looked inside and it was pretty much a ghost town. I was wondering why the line?

I was wondering how long this place would last, hadn't heard anything about it for a while. The video game thing seems like a tough sell when there's so many gambling and other entertainment options all over.

Tried to go there many times, but it was always closed. Now I guess it's permanently closed.

New Orleans 7* retreat. Food, food, and more food . . . .
    Tentatively Tahoe or LV . . . .

I never understood these places that charge a cover and are empty, I've walked by that place many times and thought about checking it out but there was some guy standing there charging. I'm thinking "I can see right in there and there's only 3 or 4 people inside and you think I'm going to pay for the privilege"?, It's not like they have a band to pay for.

Our friend tended bar there for awhile and glad she left to work at Rio before all this happened. But, she could our name on the list for free admission when they were charging a cover. We went there twice and it was just was too loud for us.

Too bad, I want to see any part of Fremont succeed!
