Hit this yesterday at Tropicana (AC). My first ever dealt Aces! Had just switched from 50 cents to dollars.

    That is awesome.

Imagine if the multiplier came up on that hand!

It's funny because earlier in the session I was dealt K A A A and then multiplier came up (5x), but the final dealt card was not an Ace, and I could not draw the 4th Ace. That would have been sweet!

Nice Mike !!! Question for ya- do you play at the Golden Nugget at all? My buddy does (after leaving Harrah's) and says they have tightened up the VP..Just curious your take when machines do not hit at all after a nice run of weeks..Do you think they 'tighten' in summertime when they are busier? or is it just plain old luck?

No, I don't think they tighten VP machines. It's all luck. I had two great hits at GN last weekend. Although I will say that since they installed all the new machines at Harrah's AC, I never seem to win there, so I too stopped playing there.

I waited for you to respond first because i didn't want to influence your thoughts to his question. Awesome hit by the way! Only time I've been dealt Aces w/kicker is on play money... dammit.

The only way to legally "tighten" a video poker machine in most states, including Nevada and New Jersey is to change the paytable. The cards are supposed to be random and each card having a 1 in 52 probability of appearing at all times. For example the game shown in Mike's pic has a full house paying 45 credits leading to a house edge of 1.86%. Go down the street to Harrah's, the same machine likely pays only 40 credits for a full house (because Harrah's generally sucks like that) leading to a house edge of 2.94%.

But I'm not sure if that is what you friend was actually referring to. If your friend thinks the casino actually reduces the number of winning hands during the summer to "tighten" the machines, that's something different and against state law. Also they would have to manipulate machines designed by gaming companies that also know and very likely obey the laws of the states that they distribute to.

So machines should behave randomly at all times of the day, year, etc. Mike just pressed the deal button at the right microsecond. Nice problem to have and I wished i had!

Thanks for the input Trig..but we both think the truly 'legal' environment of testing machines in AC has passed since the CCC (Casino Control Commission) is no longer there.I don't know who in AC is responsible for this nowadays..
Not to get into a long discussion about this, but I side on the luck factor and buddy sides on the changing chips factors while the year end results still maintain the legal aspects of what the take should be...

I'd be shocked if there was some kind of inappropriate behavior going on in AC....:wink2::wink2::wink2:

Very nice! Hit it again! I was there Thursday night. VP was unkind to me. Dollar slots kept my head above water. I only had two hours to stay and play. I do plan on coming back. This is an incentive to make it sooner.
