    My Trip Report

Arrived approx 2 pm at hotel...(16.00 cab fare from airport and gave 20.00) made our way thru the maze to the check in desk....extremely long line, took our bags to bell hop, and snuck back in line where my friend was . An hour and a half later we were checked in and on our way to our king deluxe rooms on the 12th floor. Went in...and my room was a FULL sized bed, small room, tiny bathroom, tiny balcony and filthy dirty carpets. Closet area was next to bed...and could reach out and pull the ironing board down from laying in bed. (our rooms were next door to eachother tho) My friend walked in her room...had 2 queen beds (we were both told rooms had king beds) small balcony...very small bathroom..and her closet was located between the front door and the bathroom door (bathroom door opened into the enterance space...instead of into the bathroom) carpet very dirty as well. Since we had not called for our bags yet...we decided to go back down and get rooms switched...Wrong answer...line was even longer than before...and the "keys and mail" line had about 30 or 40 people in it...we decided to wait. Our next person in the party arrived, and got checked in around 8pm (she too waited in a long line) She was put on the 13th floor...even tho she had requested to be put near the rest of us. (we all made the request to be near eachother) Her room was HUGE, (We all booked king deluxe) had mirrored closet doors next to the bathroom, big king comfy bed, huge balcony...huge bathroom vanity and mirror. By this time at the desk...they told us they didnt have any more king beds available...So we went back the next morning right away...They changed our 2 rooms to the 13th floor...but different hallway. We couldnt go there yet because they were not ready.....we did however go to the room...and housekeeping let us in...they were cleaned...as nobody had been in them the night before??? They were no different than what we were in already...so by this point I am really pissed off...That afternoon...we went back down and spoke with front desk manager and asked why we were given different room types when we booked the same room type, and demanded that we be put in a room that was as pictured in the website for a king deluxe. (they told us that those rooms pictured are VIP suites) I threw a hissy fit and told her that its false advertising to do that!!! I also explained to her that we booked our rooms Months ago...and that we specifically all booked with requests to be near eachother...that there was no reason that it could not be accomodated since it was 3 rooms....I said "get real...U surely can find something in the same damn hallway atleast" I also told her that we had wasted alot of time on this...and that if it was not satisfactory this time...that I would NOT be leaving good reviews online. Amazingly...rooms appeared next to our friend!!!...one right across the hall...and another a few doors down...The rooms were big...and clean...Just took some bitching to get it.

I'm sorry to hear you had to raise a ruckus, Shelbymae! I know you were worried before you got there about safety, so I hope that didn't put a damper on the rest of your trip. I hope you'll let us know how you army wives enjoyed yourselves despite the room fiasco!

We had a wonderful time!!! Army MOMS...not wives...but glad you rememberd...LOL And whoever wrote the reviews about safety...I think they made stories up when they were irresponsible and lost their money in a machine or card game because I did not feel unsafe at all...I EVEN HAD A DOOR LATCH!!! LOL
I dont think I could ever afford the Wynn or Encore, but the price will be checked out for next year.
We went to the Anthony Cools show and that was hilarious...of course it helped that we had one of our moms up there....we have blackmail material on her now!!! LOL
Ellis Island steak special was wonderful, We ended up going there because construction crew broke a gas line, and so no hot water from Bills North to who knows where...so restaurants were closed. Loved $1 drinks at Casino Royale!!! and free internet at McDonalds.
My feet hate me....and I still need to catch up on sleep.
Had a wonderful time...not alot of gambling but alot of walking...visiting...sightseeing. Freemont Street was very entertaining and a nice change of scenery on our last night.

My mom just got back for the IP and this was her biggest complaint (among many other) as well. She said it was so dirty she had to wear her flip flops in the room.

After she booked IP I told her what a shit hole that place is and that she'll regret staying there. She said oh no it'll be fine, her first words to me when she got back was I should of listened to you.
