I attended a retirement party for just about my all time favorite working buddy. We accomplished soooo much while we worked together. It was always fun, productive and real. Get 'Er Done and Can Do. We worked hard and did whatever we needed to do to end up with the best we could get for the Navy. It was so much fun working with this guy. Always a prank and a joke and a laugh to get over all of the shitty parts. I know this sounds an awful lot like a marriage type of thing, but the two of us cared about the job and trusted each other beyond question. I had not seen most of these people in over 3 years, since I retired. I was so filled with pride and joy at the number of handshakes and hugs and Gladtoseeyas I got. It was just so unexpected and gratifying. My buddy, during his speech, started mentioning all of the people that meant the most to him during his career and I was right there in the top 5. It just made feel damn good. I'm just so grateful and so proud of myself for having turned my life around over the past 25 years or so. Good luck and all of the best there is to my Work Brother.
