So in a vain attempt to snag some tickets to the 2013 iheartradio Music Festival, several of us who will be in Vegas that weekend have been sitting by waiting until 1, refreshing Ticketmaster until they went on sale.

Needless to say none of us could even land a single seat. By 1:04 it was telling me they were sold out.

I'm thinking if they have 18K tickets, maybe 2K went up for sale today.

Oh well, I didn't really care for the lineup.

Are these tickets that a host would be able to obtain????

Possibly. Certainly an MGM host would have a few to dispense. But considering that on the secondary market they go for anywhere from 1K - 10K, they probably reserve them for VIP's.

Yes but last I heard it took a 200k line to get anything unless you book them months in advance and can sneak in.

Keep trying Ticketmaster. They'll release more throughout the day and even weeks to come. Don't give up & don't pay the scalpers yet.

For a show like this it really depends if they put a limit on how many tickets a broker can buy. Just taking a peek at three different ticket brokers I can see that amongst them they have over 1000 tickets available, so I would guess they didn't impose any limit on how many somebody could buy at once.

They probably have a ton of tickets tied up in radio promotions. Clear Channel probably has at least 6 stations in the market here now and they have all been actively promoting the show whether their core audience suits the show or not. They will also have a ton of their employees there on various junkets. There will probably be ways to get tickets eventually but this seems to me to be an insider event.

There was a Ticketmaster limit of 4, but I suspect the brokers had early access.
