I suppose there's little chance of getting an upgrade at check in, right? Staying at Caesars in the cheapest room and had been checking rates for a while. Now only Nobu rooms are available. Not a good sign.

There is always last minute cancellations. You may get lucky at check in.

    Good luck.

You never know... I was at Trump a few years ago, it was a fight weekend, everything in town a sold out. The guy next to me, trying to add a night to his stay was told it would be $400, and the hotel was virtually sold out. I decided I was too scared to do it, but I still got upgraded to a huge one bedroom corner suite... Sold out is kind of a loose term in Vegas. Lots of people probably don't show.. or they leave early. Or whatever. They probably have rooms for whales... When you have 5,000 rooms stuff is bound to happen.

What's the worst that can happen? They will say no? But as a rule of thumb, just make sure you are happy with what you booked.

Thanks, Heather, you're right. I really just wanted to stay at Ceasars and was willing to pay what I got. The internet just got my hopes up a bit, and I should know better!

It depends on why they are sold out. If it's an event with a lot of high rollers. don't hold your breath. If they are just sold out, people are going to get upgraded and it might be you. Your odds are better the higher your card is in Total Rewards.
