Generally I am not a fan of slot or poker machines, I play a little bit for variety but that's about it. The one machine I am drawn to is multi-strike poker. They are fairly hard to find and have had some fun playing but no great success. Seems I can never get anything to come up on the top row. I would hopefully like to hear some positive experiences to boost my confidence next time I get to play. Thanks! By the way there is a nice free game to play on the net if you just google free multi-strike poker. You can find the proper playing strategy at www.readybetgo.com/video-poker/strategy/multi-strike-poker-1384.html

I find this game interesting. It can be fun, and stressful as you try to get up to the higher lines. Finding these is often a challenge as they do not have many in any casino. I do like to play it when I can find it.

STP and MultiStrike are my two favorite games. The big difference is that the strategy for STP is the same as for the original game that you're playing whereas the strategy for MultiStrike is different from the original game. I find MultiStrike JoB strategy to be complex enough that I don't play any other game on the machine. JoB on MultiStrike has a payback of 99.79% with proper strategy (which doesn't match normal original strategy JoB which comes in at 99.54%).
You can find full pay 9/6 JoB MultiStrike at the Gold Coast and South Point.
I have had plenty of 4OAK on the top line for 8x payout, I have hit a royal only once and that was on the second line for a W2G. The variance of the game is high compared to original JoB and so I will usually limit myself to $100 and stop if I hit $300. It's a fun game.

I saw these machines at Red Rock on a recent visit. I would make an educated guess that they can be found at most/all Station casinos. I don't have any success stories to share on multi-strike, unfortunately.

I love Multi-Strike Poker. Look for the MSP Deluxe machines, too. They have more games like one with five levels (top is 16x), MSP with Super Times Pay, and Big Pick (win on top line and play mini-game to determine multiplier - up to 40x your win). There's one machine at South Point that I had a great 3-trip streak on - I was playing dimes max and got dealt a royal on the top line of the Big Pick game. It paid 16x for $6400.

Multi-Strike is my fave! I play nickels, so $1 per game. I have hit a couple of $800 hands, and quite a few in the $300-400 range. Enough incentive to make me love and keep me playing this game. I did get a Royal Flush on the top 8x line once = $1600. I had worked my way up to the 8x hand and was dealt, dumped all 5 cards and got a Royal on the draw! FUN!

There's actually both a Big Pick & a Big Split, though I've noticed not all the MSP Deluxe games have both. Red Rocks, last time I played, has a different version than South Point. Big Split is setting a 5 and 3 card hand like Pai Gow Poker, Big Pick is picking your top line bonus with a tile mini game. Big Pick dealt me the top line royal for 16X; it took me getting the hand pay and basking in the jackpot glory to realize I didn't get to pick my multiplier on the top line. I actually had to read the HELP screen to realize top line royals are paid at 16x - no chance at picking a 40x multiplier!

Some machines also have Multi Strike double down stud which is...interesting. :goofy:

last year in late January I only found these machines at the Orleans and the Silverton. Glad to hear they are at Gold Coast and Stations (Palace?)because that where I usually stay since they both give me comp and low rate rooms and I really like both places

Here is a success story. I was playing at Binion's and playing quarters and on line 3 held an A on DDB and drew 3 more Aces and a kicker. I had 4 5s on line 2. Total payout $2136.25.

MultiStrike Full Pay 9/6 JoB machines at Gold Coast:
Stand in front of the B-Connected Player's Club booth. Look to the left (about 10 o'clock) and walk towards Ping-Pong-Pang. You will pass a ticket cashout machine and some ATM machines. Keep your eyes open and you will notice 3 MultiStrike machines ahead of you. They all have 9/6 JoB at the $.25 level.

Unfortunately, the Jacks or Better Multistrike at the Gold Coast has been downgraded to 9/5 last week. Still a decent game to play.

Good luck on it. The strategy is not straight forward as some people here make it sound to be. Like two offsuit high cards beats a low pair if you are not granted a free ride at the 1x and 2x levels, but for the 4x level the low pair beats the two offsuit high cards. You only hold just Jack instead of Jack-Ten Suited, in the regular Jacks or Better, Jack-Ten Suited beats an Ace and Ace-Jack Offsuit.

I've never had any phenomenal wins on it but it's a fun game to play occasionally. The big wins at the upper levels seem to be offset by the too frequent losses at the lower levels, in my not so humble opinion, that is.

Meh. My local has better multistrike paytables with 9/6 DDB and 9/7/5 DB (last I checked, game is too rich for me). Hopefully Gold Coast they held onto those like they did when they downgraded 9/6 JoB w/STP. :(
