I Think I might like the Orleans. What do you like about it?

I stopped in to use a $10 America Casino Guide match play (lost it) and the booth guy said I have a $25 free bet coming (won that one). Very good service considering I didn't know about it.

I played that twenty five dollar free bet last trip and won. It was an on-line offer, sign up to Bconnected on-line for the info.
Try walking across the street to McMullan's Irish Pub. Real Irish accents, decent video poker, comped Irish drafts, I hit a quad and got to spin a wheel, won a free shot. Walked out with forty dollars more than I walked in with, free pint and a shot, and to think I walked over there to sober up a bit!

 

I agree with the above comments about the Orleans. I get 2 nights comped (Sun thru Thurs), plus a $10 food credit each quarter. In September, the check-in girl gave me an 18th floor Strip-view room without me even asking! Personally, I don't mind the long hallways, I like walking. Only a free shuttle ride away from the Strip, or the 201 Tropicana bus runs about every 15 minutes East to the Strip. I'm primarily a video poker player, especially at bartops. The bartenders are very attentive and friendly, they usually put another drink in front of me before the previous one's downed. 8/5 Bonus for .25 is usually what I play there, or .5 Ultimate X which some machines have. I also like to play the 2 banks of .5 Triple-play Progressives on the floor as well. 9/7 Double Bonus is the best game on those.
I also like the pool area. It's never been too crowded when I've used it. Staying during the week probably helps. The music isn't too loud. (but I usually have headphones on, listening to Pandora on my phone or Kindle while on the WI-FI) I've never had anything but a pleasant stay there, and I've stayed there probably 10 times over the last 15 years. Highly recommended.

 

It isn't every casino that offers a window in one's shower stall. Seriously, it's a nice place with a fun vibe. Once I was playing small coin VP near the front entrance and hit something especially loud and long. Two provocatively-dressed young ladies on their way out were attracted by the noise and came over. I had to tell them, "It sounded like a lot, but I only won 75 bucks." They wished me a good day and left.

 

I just stayed there for the first time for one night last Friday. Room was nice, good size, comfy bed, and worth mentioning is the numerous electrical outlets available throughout the room. Only negative thing I can recall about the room is the lighting wasn't great. Every staff member I encountered was very friendly. Plenty of cocktail waitresses. Checking in early was no problem and neither was asking for late check out. I would definitely like to return so am hoping I get some offers from there.

 

Other than what everyone else has mentioned, I liked that when they had a basketball event (lots of very tall, hyperactive teenagers) they posted someone on every floor by the elevators to remind the kids not to run/make noise in the hallways.

 

They did? They had people posted in the halls? I remember being there for this event a couple of years ago and I did not see anyone on our floor. You were lucky to have that. That being said, most all of the kids seemed pretty well behaved.

Wednesday is my best day always at the Orleans. It is senior day and by swiping in twice, and playing, I get two breakfast and supper, reduced movie, a drawing. sometimes a giveaway where everyone gets $5 or some bling. Then at night the Nite Kings perform in the lounge. This is an amazing group if you like old fashioned music.
Some think of the Orleans as isolated, but it is not. There is a free shuttle to the strip and to the Gold Coast, although the trip to the Gold Coast can be a long one when they wait at the strip.
I walk to the Gold Coast (20 minutes) and then take the shuttle back.
There is a 201 city bus across Tropicana that goes to the strip at Excalibur. $2 or $1 with a Medicare card. There are other Tropicana destinations as well. The most popular is the Pinball Hall of Fame.

From Excalibur there is a shuttle to Luxor or Mandalay Bay.

On the way to the bus you catch the bus pass you pass McMullen's Pub, one of the best Irish pubs I know. It is under attended while it is really very close. The food is good, The beer is great. And there are all these little wood nooks for being part of the tavern and yet in your own space. One Christmas we had 13 there and they gave us a room all to ourselves.

A cab to Aria proved to be about $10 because they go in the back.

Unfortunately the old 10/7 signature VP is gone. However, I play the 3 play in nickels with 9/7 and progressives. It gets me my free two nights for every trip. The point multiplier on Wednesdays for seniors may help me with that. 5X to 15X.
Be certain to get your points turned into the drawing early as the lines come and the machine shuts down before you can do it.

I have been in the pool every November. It is heated enough. The Jacuzzi is large and good.
I never get to the Café anymore with all the free food, but I loved breakfast there, especially oatmeal with all sorts of interesting add ons.

 

Orleans always hold a special place for Laurel and I

-Even though we are not big gamblers, there is always an offer on the table for cheap (free) nights.
-Easy place to get it and out of especially if too much alcohol was consumed.
-We had our 2nd lifetime W2G playing Keno while drinking at Coasta Cantina ($2000 on 5/2013)
-Oodles of machines for her to while away the time.
-Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend------ first weekend in June
-Great bartop VP where don't get hassled when less than full coin
And.......
-I had security called on me when I had an altercation with a naked man in the Spa.

I was there once when the National Cheer Championships (not sure if that's the name) and little girls – teens were everywhere, but their parents were with them.

One evening the couple across the hall from me had a very noisy evening (wink-wink). I'm sure some interesting parent-child conversations ensued.

we always make sure the Cheer or some other kids event isn't going on while we are there. Worse time was the World Wrestling Championships. Between the wrestlers and the hookers it was chaos!

 

We've always had nice rooms at Orleans. Good food choices, free shuttle to the strip, nice pool area and lots of fun at craps and roulette tables. It's a must for us every trip even when we don't stay there.

 

The rooms are nice, they're always sending me offers for free rooms and tournaments, they have a big poker room, and they have some great VP!!!

 

if you are worried about the resort fee, you can book using the "sunny in vegas" promo on the hotel's web site and you will get more than half of it back in the form of food credits.

 

I stayed there for 2 nights in Oct and I enjoyed it. I had never set foot in the place before and didn't realise how big place this place is. The room was nice and plenty of food and drinking options as well. I would certainly consider it an option for future stays.

 

Just had a very tasty meat loaf sandwich at the new Bailiwicks. Decent sized and reasonably priced at $12. They show sports(muted) and music videos and have a stage for live music. It'd be worth a look if you stay or visit. I saw a few music vids long forgotten.
