I may be permanently changing from CET to Borgata in AC. I am tired of this

Just got my May offers for CET in AC and they cut everything again, even though nothing has changed about my play at all. Now, they cut my two comp buffets to a BOGOF coupon that's only good on Sunday-Friday. They haven't offered any free show tickets in months and they cut my freeplay once again. They are also no longer offering comp rooms for Fridays.

Meanwhile, at the Borgata -- who have only gotten two-thirds of the play I have given CET in AC -- they are offering two free buffets whenever I want them, two free show tickets once per month, comp rooms any day Sunday-Friday and some Saturdays, FOUR TIMES the guaranteed freeplay and sometimes more on mystery slot dollars days, plus all the freebies from MyVegas.

I have been loyal to CET for years and I contacted my host to give them the opportunity to match Borgata's offers, but if they are unwilling to do so, then it will be time to say goodbye to CET. I may change my booked stay for AC Boardwalk Con to the Borgata instead and then stop going to CET casinos entirely after this summer's anniversary trip to Planet Hollywood in Vegas. This has gone far enough. The disrespect is too much to take.

I know that CET is bankrupt and most likely will be taken over by their creditors, but this is beyond terrible treatment of customers.

Hi there. It's funny b/c I just told my BF that I am considering giving Borgata a try. I keep hearing that they are much better w/comps and overall player appreciation. The only "hook" CET has is A. Being right there on the boardwalk, which is great during the summer and B. The fact that they combine the play for perks while in LV ( or other CET properties).

But I agree, overall CET is becoming rather dismal and slightly disappointing. Not to mention the entire AC ocean side is getting a bit more frightful.

I always hear nothing but good about borgata and they card match to get you there which is great but remember and Im not defending ceasars, its all casinos, they will give you more to get you in, then the comps, free play ect will eventually end up to what your theo commands, could be more, could be less.

if it were me, Id play at borgata mostly but still give a lil play to cet to have more choices if I needed a room elsehwere

Borgata is a little tougher to get comps than CET. They won't credit you comps until your visit merits $5comp and then it will show up. Less than $5comp and you get nothing. One big plus. Borgata is half owned by Boyd. Although they don't share a player's card system, you can use your Borgata comps in Las Vegas. You take comps out of your Borgata account in $5 increments ($50 being the lowest allowable certificate and going up by $5 increments from there.) to use in Las Vegas. They have to be used while you are staying at a property by having the certificate credited to your portfolio with the room. Can't use them directly in a restaurant or bar or any store, just by making a charge to your room where the certificate is credited. This is all explained on the Borgata web site.

So if you earn less than $5 in comps in one day, are you saying they give you nothing for the day on your player's card? If so, that sucks for lower level players.

There is a reason Borgata is head and shoulders above the rest of AC casinos when it comes to earnings. I am an ultra low roller and am staying at Harrahs AC tomorrow for three days - comped. That includes this Friday.

In my experience, even with the $5 comp requirement, it was still a lot easier to get comps from Borgata, probably because their hold is much lower and their odds are much better. Then you factor in the superior shows (including weekday shows), vastly superior restaurants, vastly superior spas, much better clubs, much better hotel rooms, etc., it becomes a no brainer.

I was sticking with CET for the majority of my play simply due to loyalty and the fact that it was easy to use my comps in Vegas as well, but they just stabbed me in the back big-time.

I was talking to another player that did the same thing I do. I play at Harrah's to get my 15,000 tier points for diamond. Then I take my diamond card over to Borgata and they offer me a Black level card on their system for my diamond status. Having a black level status at Borgata allows you to get their buffet for $10comp. Their buffet is by far the best in Atlantic City. Interesting and unusual dishes continually prepared in small batches. Truly an upper level culinary experience. This buffet at $10comp is worth keeping your play at Borgata.

We get rooms at Harrahs also and for low-rollers like us it's a good deal. But ,make no mistake ,if we were people of means and could afford to gamble thousands each time we go we'd be at Borgata also.Good luck to Lithium 78 ,hope they treat you well .

The Borgata will do a one-time players card match to Black Label if you are MLife Gold or higher, and another great thing is that since they are once again partnered with MLife, you can get your comp dollars (I think the minimum is $50) put into a certificate that can be used at Mlife properties in Vegas.

I contacted my CET host with photos of the offers from Borgata and I'm going to give them a chance to match the offers. The Borgata is much more generous with offers than CET. I was talking with someone about it and they mentioned how with the same rate of play the Borgata will offer a Michael Kors wallet and CET will offer a set of plastic bowls. Too true.

I hear you. I love staying and playing at Borgata, and I gotta say I get decent enough treatment at both. Due to laziness, I'm copy and pasting this comparison from something I wrote elsewhere:

"I've made it to Borgata 4 times over the last year. I'm Red Card, almost exclusively tables there, and maybe my "spread" is $60-$120 (never really ask). I've never lost more than a few hundred in a trip, and I don't think I broke $30 in comp dollars that last cycle (Feb-Feb). Still, I've had comp classic room offers for Sun-Thurs, WC rooms for a spell, comedy tickets, the occasional show ticket, slot tournaments, and comp for two buffets each month. I'd love to be Black Card if it means quicker accrual, but I'm not making out too bad now.

By comparison, the same play at CET over there earned me BOGO buffets for a couple of months, Comp buffet for a couple, maybe $2 in RCs per trip, but I could get some Friday & Saturday rooms and just about any other non-holiday night (except the last month I could only get weekends). Some tournaments, shows for most of last year, though that's dried up as well, and the occasional $25 gift card round out my perks. Oh, and I'm Gold there, maxing at 4800 TCs each year."

I'm going to try and focus the majority of the rest of my AC play this year at Borgata, even if it means burning a few comp bridges at CET. Not only am I not trying to pay for rooms, but it's hard to turn down Friday night rooms at Caesars when they come up. I may even give a little of the usual CET play to Trop or GN. Anyway, I hope they do match the offers for you. I do love that I can earn some change to use in AC and Vegas at my local, but it's getting hard to stay at CET.

Oh, and the other thing about Borgata is that any change in room offers is available the very next morning. You don't have to wait months to see if you have any comped rooms. Just log in after 6AM, usually, and they are (or aren't) there

Just talked on the phone with my CET host and she said her manager won't let her match the offers from Borgata. I told her that I appreciated the fact that she tried, and it's nothing personal, but I'm going to take my AC play to the Borgata, because they offer me more for my gambling dollar. CET did upgrade my Vegas hotel from the Linq to Planet Hollywood, so I'm going to thank them by increasing my bankroll for Vegas, but they just aren't competitive in AC to me.

I was a regular at Harrahs AC and switched to The Borgata a few years ago.
Harrahs is a distant 2nd place in AC behind Borgata.

That being said, the above discussion of bowls vs. a MK wallet does not reflect the overall comp availability of the properties.
IMO discretionary comps seem easier to come by at Harrahs.
I think Borgata is tighter and only gives back what you earn because they can!!
They sell out every weekend all year and know they are the best property in town.

If you get a match of your Harrahs Diamond to a Borgata Black Card they will do it one time then you have to earn it by getting 1000pts in a year.

The Black Card lounge is fantastic with a separate buffet and lounge area with bar for hanging out and watching sports.

Is that true? I thought that because of the NJ gambling commission views of Stanley and Mimsy Ho(alleged Chinese mafia connections) the stopped association with MGM. That's why MGM wasn't affiliated with Borgata. If that's true I'll go back to Borg any day. Loved the place, just went to CET so my comps can be used in Vegas. Boyds are nice in Vegas but not prime strip props.

Sorry. Didn't mean to question you Lithium. I just checked Borg's web sight and Mlife is right there. Just shocked that that happened.
    It is a good thing.:licklips:

Yeah, they will now also tier match your MLife card. I'm planning to take my father-in-law on my next visit with me so he can enjoy that perk.

Yeah, I would tell you to do the same thing. Just keep your ADT good with CET when you visit Vegas and stop triggering CET AC gaming days. Problem solved.
