I'm CET Platinum, and when I log into TR I can usually get reasonable comps based on my ADT. You know, Bally's/Flamingo/Harrah's, but not CP. A room at Harrah's New Orleans, but not a suite. That kind of thing.

So when I logged in and tried to get a comped/discounted room in Baltimore (Hyatt Regency and Sheraton are their partners), the entire TR calendar was "grayed out" so that you could barely see the phrase SOLD OUT behind the gray part. I called Caesar's and got the following information: "When we first establish a presence in a new town, many of our hotel partners only open up a block of about 5 or 10 rooms per night. Then, if we prove that we can drive traffic to their property, they open up more, sometimes a lot more."

I wound up using a free night I had on Hotels.com to comp myself in the end. But I thought some of you might want to know the deal out in Charm City, in case you're mid-Atlantic based and might want to swing through town. I live in DC and it's a short train ride for me, so I can live with a down-and-back in one day. But it sure is nice to have a free crash pad instead of a super late train ride. So I'll keep my eye on this and see if comps are offered or are more common for me going forward.

I've been meaning to post a TR, but I stayed two nights (Sat and Sun nights 8/30-9/1) comped this past weekend at the Hyatt Regency. I booked these about a month ago when they opened up reservations on the Baltimore Horseshoe website. I was a high Diamond at the time, but crossed over into 7 stars while there (my goal for the trip besides checking out the new casino). I live in the DC area. A couple observations:

    1) I called the Horseshoe to ask about parking and the VIP rep told me valet parking was comped at the Hyatt. Turns out only self parking was comped and I had to pay the $12/night difference between the self park rate and the valet rate.

    2) You cannot charge anything to hotel at the casino and your host cannot comp off any charges you make at the hotel. I confirmed this with host who introduced himself to me while I was playing. So I said to him, "basically there aren't any discretionary comps"? And he kinda have me a shrug which indicated yes and said something about a player of my level having plenty of RCs (I prefer spending RCs on free play or shopping in the catalog. I'd rather save food, beverage, and spa for the host to use discretionary comps on).

Just as a side note, when I visit the TR website without logging in, every night for both the Hyatt and the Sheraton are sold out. When I log in however, my rate calendar has comp for every night at the Hyatt in Sept and Oct except 9/11-9/14, 10/21-10/22, and 10/27-10/29. For the Sheraton only 9/12-9/13 and 10/7 are sold out - every other night comes up as comp.
