I didn't realize vocanic ash was SO TOXIC ?
I thought it was more of a nuisance -
Alot of Chile fruit ends up in my supermarket --
I haven't heard any warnings........but would they tell me, anyway ?
I guess it depends on how good the Chile lobbyists are ?

You will see table grapes from Chile this time of year and some berries. Right now a lot of the fresh produce comes from Mexico.

But what hasn't even mentioned is how mudslides and ash will affect farm raised salmon from Chile. Don't worry Ken, Salmon at Costco is sourced from Norway. :peace:

Is there a link? I don't think volcanic ash is necessarily all that toxic, although a lot depends on the chemical composition of the specific eruption. There was an impact on livestock in the Icelandic eruptions because of the fluorine content of the ash, but I haven't heard of a similar finding in Chile yet.

If anyone is interested, there's some great information here...
