Seems like this is in walking distance of nyny/mgm. Is it pretty safe to be walking around tropicana at night?

Yeah, it's alright... lotta traffic in the area keeps things from getting too seedy IMHO.

You'll be just fine. It is very close and there is more than one way to get into the MGM. Plus Hooters is just around the corner.

I stayed at that same HoJo back in May and felt perfectly safe.

Safe? Well, yeah it's safe. But does it feel sketchy, like perhaps something could happen? Yes especially at night.

As does the entire rest of the city-- It's all a question of degree. I realize that this is a subjective question, and my experience as a male traveling with friends would be different than that of a single woman (for example). That said, I felt more comfortable there than I ever have on the northern end of the strip.
