I just made reservations to spend Thanksgiving in LV in 2016.

For those of you who were just there during Thanksgiving I'm just curious about how the the Thanksgiving Day buffets were, traditional turkey day fare, long lines etc.?

Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.

If you are not a top level player (noir, 7 stars) thanksgiving is the busiest night of the year for Vegas buffet ,the line is 2-4 hours at all the good places and its mostly locals who just dont cook on that day

Buffets were packed. I mean crazy at Rio. They had a couple security guards there to keep the line moving and prevent any issues. People lose their mind. The restaurants are not crazy.

Agree, even if your a diamond at CET you can expect to wait 3 hours to get into the buffet

I remmeber there is another thread talking about thanksgiving day buffets.
most comments there were based on previous experiences.
4-6 hours queue is not uncommon. I don't think next year will be very different.

My wife and I had an incredible Thanksgiving meal at Bazaar Meat (SLS). We were served 8 courses over a 2-hour period. I can't imagine waiting in line for a buffet when you can just do a simple reservation. Wifey has already said we're going back to SLS next year.

Security guard to keep the line moving, like in prison.

    that sounds like fun!!

i would have gone to white castle and done my thanksgiving the next day when i had the place to myself.

Dont let the calendar rule your life.

I am sorry but 4-6 hour waits for a buffet that has some holiday items on a menu? That is stupid.

No kind way of putting it. Seems like a strange waste of time. Plenty of restaurants in the city.

Yep, gotta agree with you. The longest I would wait in line is an hour.

I hate waiting in line at all for a buffet, which is why we always go at off times. (usually not much of a wait if any) 4 hours? Holy Hell. I would starve to death and probably cannibalize those in line with me. I would eat ANYWHERE but a buffet on Thanksgiving if that was the case.

The most nasty buffet line I ever remember is after the old Green Valley Ranch buffet opened. It was frustrating and fatiguing. IIRC it was well over an hour wait, which is about my absolute hard limit!

This is about the only line I can remember where you moved BACKWARDS every so often. Quite a few parties would have one person wait while the others went off to play, I assume. Then where you had 1 person, it all of a sudden became 4 or more. This happened several times. Worse {profanity}, was a couple times where somebody ahead of us would see people they knew a couple switchbacks behind and motioned them to come up and join them. I was tempted to go into total b*tchmode about this once, but didn't really feel like making a scene. :( Oh well.

GVR was only buffet that I couldn't stomach such a long line and turned around and left. They used to run a lot of 2fers for the locals, which caused the backups.

I eat at the Wynn Country club on Christmas day every other year. You have to walk past the buffet to get there, and the line is unbelievable. 4 hours plus- we see people in the line- have a leisurely lunch - and the same people still have a way to go to get in when we leave. Tower suites line privileges are usually suspended, so that doesn't work. No idea why anyone would do that - seems a total waste of a day.

I find that hard to believe. If the wait is 3 hours for Diamond, It's a hell of a lot longer than 4 hours for everyone else.

4-6 hour wait? WTF? They'd be smart to put a mini-buffet in the middle of the line with appetizers to hold you over LOL

Went to Thanksgiving buffet at Aria a couple years ago. Waited 15-30 minutes in the Mlife line. No way I'd wait more than an hour. At that point, go to a regular restaurant or order room service.

Nobody is waiting 6 hours for a buffet in Vegas. Not buying it. Even long lines can be conquered in 60-90 minutes.
