Just curious how many other buffet connoisseurs there are on this board. Sorry if this is a repeat kind of thread, I didn't have any luck in search.

    I've eaten the buffets at:

    Mandalay Bay
    Luxor
    Excalibur
    MGM Grand
    Planet Hollywood
    Aria
    Cosmopolitan
    Bellagio
    Mirage
    The M Resort
    Wynn
    Rio Seafood buffet
    The Orleans

I have yet to try Caesars new buffet - which I will this weekend. For now my number one choice is Cosmopolitan, second goes to the Wynn, then followed by the M Resort, then Bellagio.

The buffets I will never eat at again - Excalibur, Luxor, MGM Grand, PH, Rio, and the Mirage.

The absolute worst the two times I have been is the Rio seafood buffet. Almost everything they had tasted like a microwaved frozen dinner...it was absolutely awful. My parents had loved it in years past and we all agree we won't ever set foot in there again.

    Rio seafood
    Mirage
    Sands
    Stardust
    Frontier
    Main Street
    Fremont
    California
    Texas Station

I'm sure there are others, but I don't recall them at the moment.

Now, about the only buffet I can take is breakfast. Give me a sit down meal with a server for lunch or dinner!:poke:

You made me think. No particular order.

Orleans-breakfast and lunch, it was good, ran into my hairdresser the one time which was funny

Gold Coast-lunch, nothing wrong with it, it was fine

Rio & Rio Sunday Brunch (Carnival World)-Sunday Brunch was amazing, lunch and dinner was very good

Bally’s Sidewalk Café breakfast buffet (not really a buffet)-wasn't very good, maybe we should have had the regular breakfast menu? my husband and I commented it was the first crappy meal we had in Vegas

    Golden Nugget-dinner, it was good

MSS-lunch, very good, lots of Hawaiian food and fish, good variety

    Paris-breakfast, was fantastic, huge variety

Riviera-dinner, very good, good variety, the service was excellent, the room was nice, I don't know why it gets no respect (the waitress gave me 2 little bottles of wine another table had ordered but not opened and the guy at the seafood station shamelessly flattered me, which in no way influences my opinion "wink wink")

Imperial Palace-lunch, I didn't die, not a big room and it hasn't been updated in a long time, not much variety, we can say we did it

Mirage-lunch, salty, I have no idea why but everything was so salty, lots of variety but we didn't enjoy it much, 2nd crappy meal in Vegas

Planet Hollywood-dinner, good, lots of variety, nice room

Luxor-lunch & dinner, good variety, it was good

Palms-lunch, not a big variety but it was all good, not a big room but nice

Hilton-dinner, all you can drink wine and beer...we got there around 6pm and they threw us out at closing, it's the one time my husband way over did the boozing in Vegas. He says the prime rib was very good. I say he wouldn't know if it was good or not. I can't believe I forgot to mention it earlier.

Geez, I've been to a lot. 27 places. 28 if you count the old and then revamped Mirage. The Spice Market really didn't change much from Alladin to Planet Hollywood so I won't add one for that.

I will list them from best to worst, in five tiers. The tiers being were there is a separation in quality and the places listed in those tiers are maybe interchangeable.

    Bellagio
    Wynn
    M
    Cosmo

    Spice Market
    Mirage (new version)
    Paris
    Rio World
    Red Rock
    Green Valley Ranch

    Main Street Station
    Aria
    Mandalay Bay
    Harrahs
    Southpoint
    MGM Grand
    Flamengo
    Monte Carlo
    Luxor

    Rio Seafood
    Fiesta Henderson
    Treasure Island
    Suncoast
    Excalibur

    Terribles
    Circus Circus
    Imperial Palace

Ill do 1 better ... ill give my ratings (1-5) and short reviews

    Circus Circus - 3 (an ok 3)
Not bad but not great just ok. I jumped on the all you can eat for 24 hours. Must say breakfast was probably the best part.

Riviera - 3 (an alright 3) Free with Players Club sign up. like i said it was alright. A free meal i cant really complain. Clam Chowder was good. Although i dont like the fact that the drinks are behind the buffet area and only waitresses can grab some

    Aria - 4

people give it a bad rap. Dont know why i loved it. Price is steep maybe thats why people think they dont get what they pay for. Lucky for me i got in on the MGM promotion ... stay 2 nights get 2 buffets free.

    Mirage Cravings - 5

not a thing wrong with this buffet. Loved the gigantic drink servings. Maybe thats a ploy to get you to leave faster... fill you up on liquid lol. This was also part of the buffet deal with mgm (i booked 4 nights but seperated 2 nights and 2 nights so we could benefit from more free buffets)

    Main Street Station - 5

ive been here for lunch and brunch. WOW i went due to the hype here and man did this place exceed my expectations. I kept reading how it was one of the best not only in downtown but in vegas, so i finally gave it a shot and it helped with the b1g1 offer. Became a MUST on every trip after

    Fremont - 3

good and different. I like the cold cut tray they have. Nice add for a buffet. Potato bar is awesome

    Terribles 0

    just that ... terrible

LOL, more like which ones I HAVEN'T been to over the years. I know I've hit most of them except a few, most notably the Sterling Brunch.

I've even admitted to enjoying the Boardwalk Buffet the one time we did it, years ago. (Long story!)

I've had to go back and edit my list a couple times from reading this thread because I stopped and said to myself "Oh ya! I've eaten there too!" lol. I'm very excited to try Caesar's new buffet this weekend. And like some others who have given Aria a bad review - I'm not so sure why, I've had it three times and it was just as good as the Bellagio each time and I've had the Bellagio over 10 times over the past 5-6 years.

I left the buffet at Excalibur hungry. That should say it all.

Currently I feel the best buffet is Caesars. We shall also be enjoying that buffet this Friday if all goes according to plan. After a nice morning/afternoon at Qua.

I think that's it but I might be forgetting a few. I've probably eaten at the GVR buffet close to 400 times (avg 35 times a year for the past 11 years) . It's not that great anymore since they got rid of the crab legs 3 or 4 years ago..........but it's close to home and free using points.
