So I just left the Linq on Thursday and I placed a couple straight bets that came in. How long are these valid for? do I need to mail them in? I planned on going back in March, so I thought I would bring them with me.

The back read: "Pari-Mutuel tickets are valid for 120 days after the date of purchase or 30 days from the close of the meet, whichever occurs first. All non Pari-Mutuel tickets are valid for 1 year."

    Are these non pari-mutuel?

    Thanks.

You will be fine in March. You can mail them in if you are worried. I mailed a couple in last year and it took a couple weeks or so to get them back, no problems.

A football bet is not pari-mutual. You should be able to cash it at any CET book in March

Are there any non horse racing pari mutual bets? Those are the only ones I know of.

It should say on the back of the ticket.

usually, it is six months but I have seen 120 days. I have cashed a ticket almost one year old, all you need is a manager approval.

Just mail it on by following their instructions on how to do it. You will get your money.

But what fun is mailing it in, fly back!!

Thanks for the replies. I was just a little confused because I don't bet horses, so I wasn't sure if pari-mutuel was just horse betting. Apparently it is. I'll be hanging onto these til I head back. Hopefully my superbowl picks will also come in to pad my next trip.

Dog races and jai alai are the only other two I know of. I guess it is conceivable to have this kind of betting on any sporting event where the entrants are ranked in order at the end (e.g., track and field), but I have never seen it offered anywhere

Most of my sports betting tickets are no good at the end of the game.

    Same same.

And my attempts at a parlay are mostly failed conferences with pirates.

Even though the ticket may say it's good for only one year, I'm told it's common practice to allow a customer to cash the ticket even after a year.

Pari-mutual means "among ourselves". Those are the bets that have pools, and the odds change until the event goes off. You might buy a horse at 10:1, and if "goes off" at 3:1

In a sports wager, your ticket has the payoff printed on it, because once you bet, your wager is locked in.
