I will be staying at the Flamingo in June and 5 of us are thinking of going to the Neon Boneyard. I know we can get the bus to downtown but is the boneyard walkable from there or would be be better off getting a taxi from Flamingo? But then how to at least get back to downtown? Thinking of doing it early and then breakfast at MSS. Any thoughts?

It's about .8 of a mile from Fremont Street to the Neon Museum, although the museum is on the far side of 515 and not in a great neighborhood. As you are travling in a group, if it's not too hot you could certainly walk. Otherwise, I would either bus downtown and then cab it from there or cab it from Flamingo. If you ask at the museum, I believe that they will call you a cab for the return trip.

Here's the address of the Neon Museum:
770 Las Vegas Boulevard North, Las Vegas, NV 89101

I did the walk once to the boneyard and took the bus back to Fremont Street. The bus contained more locals than the Deuce or SDX. It was fine walking, no one bothered me. Katmu is correct, they will call a cab. I did the night tour last week and they called a cab for me and it came within 10 minutes.

First time I did the day tour, second time was the night tour. The night tour looks better. That being said, depending on your group makeup, I would bus or cab at night as opposed to walking.

What they said. It's walkable, but I'd suggest being with a group. I went there in April with some friends, we took a cab from the Golden Gate. I had to give the cabbie directions. They called a cab for us when the tour was done.

I forgot about the nighttime tours....I may just have to hit that up when I'm there in July. In that case, I would definitely take a cab there and back.
