Grin, just booked my trip for Vegas. A bit in advance. How far out do you book yours?
Depends on what booked is.....usually book airfare way ahead and rebook when available but hotel offers come later so actually booked is 90 days out or so but committed when new window opens for flights.....but then mentally booked prior to window.... So now I guess......in for SB but also know I am going in May ... Just no window yet.
As soon as I get home from the airport hahaha
I go the same time every year so about 3 months ahead for my first trip then a week before on my second trip.
I booked about week ago for December because the offer was good but am not committed if something better comes along. Have not booked a flight yet.
Book my airfare as soon as the slot tournament list comes out. But I also buy trip flex as some dates are subject to change.
Started working on a June trip a couple weeks ago. Reservations at the Grand Canyon North Rim lodge for three nights, also making plans for a few days hiking Utah National Parks, then 4 or 5 nights in downtown Las Vegas. Can't book flights until SWA opens up their schedule for June. Rental cars booked for a couple different scenarios....
I'm generally about 6 months in advance. Especially if it's a Xmas trip, I know my company will be shut down that week and I can book ahead. I had my last three trips booked at once for last Xmas then my March and May trips this year. I tend to get better flight prices that way.
A month ago I booked for January and June next year, my summer trips I book a year in advance to get the best flight prices, winter trips are booked as soon as I come back from summer trips, so 6-12 months in advance.
I would like to have a shorter wait and countdown but it's not bad, I try to get a Florida trip in between.
this trip i booked in June. Rental and hotel all paid for. The only thing that sucks about booking it early is the waiting!
Booked my September trip in February, my December trip in July, and my January trip also in July......so I guess 5 to 6 months prior to a trip. Last month I did request a week off from work for the second week next May in anticipation of a Spring Vegas trip next year. Booking airfare for next May.....impressive.
I usually book several months in advance. But I've been slacking off... Need to book for Nov or Dec.
I wanted to do a solo trip in Sept but it did not work out. BTW, I read somewhere that the Barcode on
a Boarding Pass has a lot of Personal Information embedded in it. I know you didn't show a Barcode
or a Boarding Pass but I just thought I'd throw that out there for others to be aware of.
Have fun on your 2017 Trip!
Generally around ninety-days out. We'll pencil in the dates before that, but we generally don't do the hotel/flight work until about three months out.
The past 3 years it's been between 131 and 103 days before. I know this because I'm like a big kid and count down the days as soon as we book!
Im thinking a lot of Californians do this as I sometimes plan out a trip on-the fly-last second planned trip.
We booked our flights from Edinburgh to Seattle today. We'll spend a week there, a few days in Oregon for the solar eclipse, before heading to Vegas for 10 days. We get to Vegas exactly 1 year today!
The reason we book so early because we use BA air miles and the flights become available 355 days before departure. Rather than take a chance we just book them as soon as they're released.
I generally book five to six months out. Whenever the schedule for Southwest becomes available. Then I keep checking the fares every week and re-book if the price drops.
Same thing with the hotel reservation.
A couple of months out is my norm unless I get a real steal on airfare (I constantly check). I'm able to count on comp rooms so the air is my wild card.
As soon as the time off is granted. Sometimes with things like the room that can be canceled, I jump on a good rate if I get an offer and worry about the rest later.
We book at least months in advance. Then we book at least 1 more time before that trip because the wait is excruciating
Each year on Cyber Monday I make hotel rervations for 2-3 trips for the following year. I always have at least a July and November trip so basically I make them up to a year in advance.
