I am a teacher in SC, and therefore only get to make a vegas trip once a year during the summer. Since I get to go once, the trip is usually 7 or 8 days long....a full week of hardcore gambling, drinking, and creating stories I love to tell. When I come home, I am usually totally wiped out, but sad to leave every time. About 3 months later, I get the vegas itch really damn bad. The 8-9 months is unbearable.

What do you do to get through to the next vegas trip???

I usually take the time each day to read through trip report updates, although I rarely post. I read through the gaming and hotels sections of this site, I play various gambling apps, I watch YouTube videos of general vegas stuff, I watch the hangover, casino, oceans 11, vegas strip, etc,

Mostly I make plans for my next trip, and I always love hearing suggestions. The next trip will be Earl's (mine) bachelor party in June for 8 days. This will include sigma derby, poker, flipping off everybody in Cromwell because it's not bill's anymore, visit to spearmint rhino, gettjng earthquake drunk and shooting craps at cheaper end casinos.... I also spend lots of time developing a Vegas playlist that will last the exact length of the flight.

I'm curious to hear how you get by between trips......because it's a daily struggle. 118 days left! Cheers, ladies and gentlemen!

I know what you mean, we only get to go once a year also because it is just too expensive coming from Canada, never get cheap flights from Manitoba. Anyways a few years ago now we bought a casino tour company, we lease the bus and driver and we take passengers to different casino's in the northern States, North Dakota and Minnesota, usually every 3 weeks, 2 nights each trip, so that helps fill the gap.
Also I read all the discussions that I can find and deep into planning our next trip which is not far away now, we fly down on the 24th of Feb for nearly a month, fly back on the 22nd of March, 4 days comped at MGM, then 3 weeks in our Timeshare at Polo Towers which has really helped us to have much longer holidays than usual. So that's how we do it.

My remedy for the "in-between" are trips to Atlantic City (Borgata), Connecticut (Mohegan Sun), Pennsylvania (Mount Airy Casino), and eventually WYNN Everett in Massachusetts's (opening 2017).

Seriously - I will take a spontaneous solo trip to Vegas...for like two nights...Fri/Sat night & fly home on Sunday...back to work on Monday.
I use FF miles, so the airfare is not an expense, and I can usually get a comped room somewhere...so, the only issue is gambling money...no shows...no fancy eats...no clubs... just pure gambling for 40 hours or so, with some sleep mixed in with a couple of quick cafe' meals... small price to pay to scratch that itch, don't you think?

Yes, and I wish I could bring myself to do it! Problem is I live 5000 miles away and can't tolerate 5 1/2 hrs. of air travel to do so. My friend's cousin does this. He flies out on a Friday night and gets back late sunday evening. And he does this once a month!!

I frequest the boards for all info on trip reports and just in general whats going on with Vegas. Im like all Vegas hotels, restaurants, etc on tiwtter, facebook , and instagram just so i can keep seeing what im missing. Never fails, I always end up booking a trip for sometime in advance. Same as you though, I watch Vegas movies, watch youtube trip reports, and go to sleep thinking of the one time I had a blast at the MGM craps table. (sigh)

I get on VMB regularly and read up on everything vegas. I do like to watch the food channel or the travel channel (not as much lately though) and check out the various vegas shows. I also like documentaries so will google and watch youtube shows. Last year I watched the one with the venetian and how it went up. I enjoyed watching mysteries at the museum because they sometimes show vegas stuff. Was interesting watching the episode with the old MGM fire and what happened.

I also have those video bj games and computer craps and vp games so I will play those if I get the urge but can't make it to vegas.

I live in Hawaii so usually because of airline costs I only visit vegas 1 or 2 or at most 3 times a year so like you I get antsy after a few months.

Well I was going to go add the ending but the thread is closed. Uneventful night, the Canadian women never showed up, we walked around vegas using some coupons, ate in n out for first time, made back a couple hundred.

I have learned from my first TR, more photos and stories this year. Maybe even meet some fellow VMB's. I can't believe I have never posted a TR before. If I had done this the couple years when I was single, yall may not have believed some of the things that happened to me out there...

Mostly I just plan the next trip. I guess I'm one of those detail oriented planners. Figure out a date, then cross reference hotel offers with flights. Once those are booked I can orbit out and figure out what new things I want to do and see. And then of course the coupon game starts for us low rollers - is it worth it to buy ACG if I'm gonna be hanging out in such-and-such an area. Menu research, drink research, pool research, poker room research, and as the time draws nearer, what shows and bands are playing in town (missing Steely Dan at the Palms by a week, for the 2nd time in my life! :cuss:). Oddly I don't get the gambling withdrawal - I guess I get my fix locally. Sometimes I'll play the practice craps and pai gow on Bovada online. I do miss that Vegas climate immediately though - can't replicate that!

So i noticed a pattern in myself over the years. I tens to make 3 to 4 trips a year. When i come home from a trip, i can't be on this forum at all. I don't come to this forum until i have another trip booked and i'm back on the clock. Basically i have to tune vegas completely out for me to deal with not having a trip booked. Booked my hotel last night so now i'm back in the forum lol
