Just a few days out for my next trip. I have my bank roll, club crawl booked, and outfits ready to pack. Now to sit back and enjoy some Vegas movies ( Casino on first) with some "pre-game" drinks while I countdown until Vegas :thumbsup::drunk:

Read this board and two others for like two months straight. Plan bank roll. Redeem MyVegas. Book shows. And watch Oceans Eleven, etc. And write an incredibly detailed humorous itinerary and send it to my sisters and friend before we go - it's expected.

Get my money from the bank, and read up on here for more tips on where to go/play. This time around I work until 7am, and leave at 6pm. So I'll have everything packed a few days before, well except for the toothbrush.

Hydrate. I start drinking tons of water (for hydration) and V8 (for vitamins to fend off the vegas germs - don't wanna be sick in Vegas!) about a week before my trips. It's become a ritual. PPL at work know when I'm about to goto vegas because I'm always drinking water and V8!

I do not wear special clothing and I don't like checking and waiting for bags so
every thing goes into a carry on duffle bag. So my money already packed into my
wallet I just grab the bag and air line tickets and it's off to Las Vegas I go! You see I'm
an important man doing important things with people to do and things to see. I got crab legs
to eat and video poker to play. I ain't got time to mess around.

Since I go so often (6 to 9 times a year), I really don't do anything special to prepare myself. The day before I leave, I just get some money (I have a line-of-credit at the casinos) and pack. I always thought I should go less so I can have a bigger budget for each trip, thus getting better comps and upgrades, but I just can't wait that long to go back. If I went only once or twice a year, I'm sure my preparation to go would be heightened by my anticipation for a great time. But regardless of whether I would go once, twice, or ten times a year, as soon as I am there, I'm in heaven (ironic that I'm comparing a place with all the known vices to heaven).

I have to make sure the entire house is clean, everyone's laundry is done, childcare is planned for the kids, grocery shopping/food prep is done for a few days and all of my business emails/phone calls have been returned. Then I can pack my bag, clean out my purse, get some cash and print my boarding pass. I try to sleep as much as I can for a few days before and hydrate because I tend to not sleep more than 3 hours a night in Vegas!

    30 days before:
    1) Arrange rooms with host(s)
    2) Buy plane tickets
    3) Start exercising to get some stamina (taking stairs, push-ups, sit-ups, power walks), since I usually just sit all day at work.

    14 days before:
    1) Arrange college fund donations and schedule
    2) Confirm credit lines are intact, and if necessary, re-apply for credit
    3) Send flight information to host, and have limo pick-up arranged.

    7 days before:
    1) Reconfirm college fund donation schedule
    2) Start sleeping more (extra 30 min to 1 hour per night)

    3 days before:
    1) Start carbo loading

    1 day before:
    1) Check-in for flight
    2) Make copies of boarding pass, hotel and limo reservations
    3) Pack casino player's cards
    4) ATM for $300 in cash
    5) Pack Vegas clothing, toothbrush etc.
    6) Fill pill box with Zyrtec, Advil and vitamin V
    7) Grocery produce shopping

    On flight:
    1) Sleep!

Get the cash squared away for sure! Then, I learned the hard way that you should tell your cc company that you are travelling. I try to work out more than usual a few weeks before I leave, and cut the sodium, because I will eat and drink with abandon while there. I debrief myself on all the current happy hours, shows and random deals to be had. I now always print up the WAX bus schedule and make sure I have a supply of 1$ and 5$ bills. Then, it's just a matter of getting my head on straight gaming-wise (as my brother loves to say "this isn't 'Lost In America'") and coming up with the vaguest of plans on how to tackle the city physically with the most efficiency. One of these days I will hit every target!
