Just wondering how they track the fire bet?

Last year I was playing at The Linq (IIRC) and was betting the fire bet.

I was sure that the shooter had hit 3 points...1 more point, and I'd get a win.

I was sure the shooter made the 4th point, 1 more point would equal bigger win.

    Shooter hits a 7.

OK, 4 points pays a bit...what, I'm not getting paid?

At that point I was really confused.

    So here's the question:

How does a craps table track your fire bet?

How does the table keep track of how many points were hit?

When the first point is made, the dealers put a marker(with the #1) on the point made etc. When the 4th point is made, the marker is a different color and the floorman is called over. The floorman will call upstairs.
The 5th and 6th point markers are also different colors.

Yes it's just a little puck that says fire bet and they put it on each point as it's hit. Remember that it's four DIFFERENT points to hit the fire bet. Hitting the 6 and 8 twice each is only two points for purposes of the fire bet. My guess is that either you had the same point(s) hit, or you miscounted.

In a related note, I was at CP passing some time waiting for friends and decided to roll by myself. I bet a $5 fire bet approximately 80% of the time, and have never won on the bet. You know how this story goes...

I didn't bet it this time, I rolled 4 points, was on my 5th different point, but 7'd out. Figures, haha!

    I know that feeling :grrr:
I will always put even a $1 on it when others are shooting.
When I shoot I will put $3 or more for me and $1 or so for the table.
The past few trips I have been good for at least 1 fire bet per trip so its hard not to bet something on it.

Quick question about the fire bet (and the small/tall/all bets). Do you have to be playing the pass or don't pass in order to be bet either of those?

I don't know about the all tall etc, but you don't need a line bet to play the firebet. I leave a firebet for both me and the crew when I leave the table. I've been called a couple of times to pick up my winnings at the cage. This was at Paris and PH. I've been at Caesars Windsor and was told that if I leave the table, they'll pick up the bets.

I bet it every time since a guy hit all 6 at Paris and nobody was on it.

I have been paid for five 12 times now and four too many to count - still chasing the six tho

Ugh, you're a little hot on the 5s now. A 5-point hit is about 10 times more likely than a 6 point hit on average.

I've never seen them place that marker. I was the only one playing the fore bet.

The round markers indicate a point made.
This pic was from a 6 number firebet win!

When playing the FB in the future if they don't mark it, just tell them. On all of those bets, (Fire, All Tall, All Small, All, Golden Dice @ MGM Detroit) I make sure to watch for myself and if they don't mark it I let them know.

Just curious, were you the only one playing it? Maybe they weren't used to people playing it and just forgot. Did you ask about it after you didn't get paid?

    No.

They'll book them any time, no matter what other bets you make (or don't make).

The only rule regarding the Pass/ Don't Pass line bet is that you have to make one of them to roll the dice.

And you can't remove the pass line bet once its made.

The firebet has to be made before the first point. I have seen at some casinos that the firebet has to be made before the shooter makes his first roll.
example: if the shooter rolls a 7,2,3 or 12, some casinos won't let you place the firebet after that..........since the shooter has started.

I haven't seen this as an issue at CET casinos in Las Vegas.

on my last trip (I think it was @ Texas Station) they had signage that you had to have a pass line bet to make the fire bet

I've also been told before that I had to have PL (or DP) to play the AT/AS as well. Although I've also played it without before with no issue, so I'm guessing the rules vary, or they enforce them differently depending on the casino/boxman/PB...

The fire bet markers at CET casinos are black for the first three fire bet points, the fourth one is green, the fifth and sixth if I recall are orange and red. Here is a photo of a table I took that hit the fourth fire bet point on a number 4 which you can see is green. This table never got past the fourth fire bet point. Surprisingly, the 8 was never a point.

The fire bet drives me CRAZY. It's somewhat of a relief to play at a place that doesn't have them, haha. Unless the table has just been awful, which if I'm there I'm being stubborn and not leaving, I always throw a buck down. When I roll, or someone I've had luck with rolls, I throw down two or three. I've been on one 4-point, and been late to the party twice. I've also seen five points hit at a place that didn't have fire bets.

Recently, I hit the four, ten, and five, and had the nine on deck with $5 on the fire. Rolled them all day again until I needed to. Seven-out.

I should have, but didn't ask about why I didn't get paid because after not getting paid I began to question myself on how many points actually had been hit.
