Last year, I had a nice, easy time getting a Jubilee Luxury room comped at Bally's, and my flight cost hardly any points on SWA. This was the weekend of December 18-21. So I figured, it's setting me back nothing but resort fees and Early Bird, so what the hell. I gave one of my buddies a shout, and he flew from Minneapolis and met me down there. Now, Vegas isn't as crowded that weekend as it is when you're truly in the middle of the season. It's also less crowded than it would be over NYE. In the end, I kinda liked it. This was my 23rd trip to Vegas, and most of those were in the heart of "Vegas Season" (as they're saying on the ads these days). I enjoyed easy access to restaurants that might otherwise be more crowded, the Fremont East bars weren't as packed, and any game I wanted to play was readily at my disposal. The weather was fine; maybe 65 and a little cooler at night, but I hardly had to bundle up. I wouldn't say I'm giving up on summer trips, but I'm hardly opposed to the same weekend again this year. And sure enough, comped Jubilee room. I'm sure I'll have plenty of points once SWA opens up their schedule this Thursday. So hey...why not? What's your opinion? Do you want to be there for Memorial Day, 4th of July, etc.? The most crowded weekends? Or the least crowded? Or...whenever you damn well feel like going to Vegas?
