Can you still qualify for comps if you play video poker exclusively on a machine that is 100% payback? Do hosts even give you attention?

We play a lot of JOB at MSS. It is 9/6, which according to Bob Dancer's software is 99.54%.

We have no problem getting RFB at MSS, downtown. I do occasionally, well maybe more than I want to admit, also play DDB paying 9/6 at the Cal and 9/5 at MSS.
Those come in at 98.98% and 97.87%.

    They treat us very well!

While the maximum payback on some machines is equal to or better than 100%, that requires perfect play, which very few people achieve. Generally, the casinos will comp based on an average theoretical hold - not on your actual win/loss. Therefore, a skilled player can receive comps while playing a positive or near positive expectation game.

the thing is 99.5% payback is still a higher HA than perfect BS BJ and they comp that great. i think there are some 100%+ payback machines and i had heard that they don't allow you to insert your card on those.

Four Queens gives me three free weekend nights, freeplay ($80 last offer) cashback, free slot tournament offers and all on playing the 10/7 Double Bonus which is full pay with an added progressive on the royal.
Now, the points don't add up as quickly as they do were I to play slots. More dollars are required for one point on VP, but still I get plenty of comps with full pay play.

Also, playing full pay Deuces at Sam's Town I am getting offers for free or reduced rooms and I earn points toward buffets there.

Ao it is a great deal.

Contrast Mohegan Sun, CT where when I finally found a 9/7DB in quarters, I also found a sign that this machine did not earn any points, or The Colorado Belle, Laughlin which also withheld points, although my total play counted there with my host in her mathematics to comp my rooms.

    Exactly what I was thinking.

The game I was specifically thinking of was a 100% VP payback at Red Rock. If I use perfect strategy, at high limits, can I get significant comps?

I believe that "only" NYNY in Vegas has this type of irrational rule. They have 8 full-pay 9/6 JOB machines in the front entrance area near the hotel registration. The player can insert card into these machines. However, the machine won't count points. :grrr:

You're right. I've played those. If you are on the strip and looking for full pay jacks or better at the quarter level this is aout your only option. I don't play enough on the strip to get mlife's attention anyways, so i figure at least I'm getting decent odds on the game.

I agree--that's the only place I've seen specifically withold comps on certain machines.

Downtown, MSS has signs on some of the floor machines, like Treasure Chest, that it takes $3 in to earn a point, as opposed to the normal $1 in = 1 point.

How about Red Rock's 100% payback?
