    Never seen one not meltdown, so why not have a sticky:

    "If you want to wear ____ to ____, please call the restaurant, club, show or hotel to inquire."

    :rolleyes2:

    Eh? That last thread wasn't all that. Meltdown? Wow.

    A member just explained their position. [IMG]

    I also agree that one should call but then again, they are probably going to quote the letter of the law even if it's not enforced.

    My thought for fellas is when in doubt, wear slacks.

    Seen it dozens of times here, it was on its way down. Mama just brought the kids back early, is all.

    But mostly I'm just toying. It's the silliest things that go utterly sideways here. Folks start getting cranky or defensive or accusatory. Maybe they should let us go at it over politics and religion, pressure valve, let off some steam, you know. lol

    I guess you would know better me (seasoned vet). My bad. Lol

    Point well made.

    I'm surprised a stink is made about valet tipping. Parking is free already so....tip the guy bringing you your car.

    And on kids....Vegas has things for kids (or should I say, things kids would like) but not much. We leav'em at Granny's.
    It's about doing almost anything you want with no tethers.

    The thing is, those opinions aren't the only ones. If someone has another, good for them. We all don't think the same way.

    I have noticed that people are happy to gamble away thousands but then get completely bent out of shape over something costing a couple of bucks.

    Never under-estimate how much money people are willing to spend to save a few quid.

    Then there's the comedic irony inherent to a thread like this where we have people complaining about people complaining.

    Complaining? This is the stuff that gives this place life, animation!!!

    On the money thing, a fave expression of mine relative to a former CEO: "He'd step over a dollar to pick up a dime."

    i find it neither comedic nor ironic.

    EDIT: I really wanted this to be in all-caps for emphasis. Sigh.

    I think the key to any dress code is to not draw attention to your self. If you are able to blend in or at least QUIETLY be inconspicuous nobody cares. :peace:

    Actually, since around 1965, the dime has been composed of mostly copper with a nickel alloy veneer. Silver dimes are hard to find now. Just FYI.

    We save all our change all year long for our Dec. trip to Vegas each year. Last year I walked up to the CoinStar machine to convert our coins to bills. A woman was leaving the machine, but had left several dimes in the return hopper. I told her she left the dimes, but she said the machine would not take them and to throw them away. She walked out. I brought the dimes home and discovered 8 1950's silver dimes. Oh, in keeping with the thread, I was dressed in shorts and a t-shirt.

    Those that need the most education on dress code are usually those that:

    * Do not read stickies
    * Do not read policies
    * Do not think any of that applies to them
    * Do not care
    * Oblivious to others around them

    (This of course also applies to the previously mentioned other "offenses".)
