There are eight (8) hotels that have chapels and no resort fees:

    Alex Park Resort
    Caeser's Palace
    Flamingo
    Golden Nugget
    Imperial Palace
    Paris Las Vegas
    Planet Hollywood
    Rio

I am debating on which way would be the most economical - a wedding at one of these hotels or just go with a free standing chapel and staying at another hotel without resort fees?

Well after much research, what I found was this: ANY way you slice it, it's going to be cheaper, or at least get more for your dollar to go with a free standing chapel. For example, Caesars was around $800 to get in the door. 30 minutes chapel time, you provide the minister, I think you got like 8 pictures, and that was it. We are paying $300 and going with Vegas Weddings, which includes limo transport, flowers, pictures, internet broadcast, etc...etc...

Check out Chapel in the Clouds website. They are in the Stratosphere and packages are very reasonable. We are going for the second cheapest and I think it is around $600 on a thursday. The salons where the wedding takes place both look nice and the bigger one will hold quite a few ppl.

My daughter just got married in Vegas last Monday, July 23rd and she had her wedding in The Chapel at Vegas Weddings downtown on S. 3rd Street.
It's a block from where you get your marriage license.

The ceremony was BEAUTIFUL and the staff could not have been nicer to work with. Their prices were very reasonable and they have a variety of packages to fit every budget. I was very pleased with the minister who performed the ceremony. My daughter's ceremony was heartfelt, personal and beautiful.

I was very happy with the pace of my daughter's ceremony. I've seen a lot of places where the minister sounds like he's given the same wedding spiel a million times, talks too fast or talks in a boring monotone. Thankfully at
Vegas Weddings the ceremony reminded me of what I'd see and hear in my home church. My daughter's ceremony sounded natural and unique. You can choose between a religious based ceremony or a civil ceremony and they give you the opportunity to customize your vows and your service to fit your needs.

We also looked at both free standing chapel as well as casino / hotel chapels and we found that the free standing chapels were a better price all the way around.

What I loved about Vegas Weddings is that they only book one wedding an hour so you don't have people stacked up behind you waiting to get married, they offer a variety of chapel spaces AND outdoor locations, they also have live online internet streaming available so that your friends and family who cannot attend the wedding can still watch it live online. We only had a total of 8 guests at my daughter's wedding but we had over 100 people watching live online from all over the country. It really was awesome.

If you'd like the name of our contact there please let me know and I'll be happy to give you her info.

No, we usually just watch on the weekends :) How was the photo up-sell pressure level? Meaning, we are just going to get the photos in our package, and have a reception to get to immediately following the wedding. How long did they make them stay around to take pics?

My daughter did the same thing you're doing, she only got the photos that were included in her package. She did not feel pressured at all to buy any extra photos.

We had a total of 11 people, including the bride and groom at the wedding and we all stayed after the wedding to take pictures. I believe it took about 20 minutes. We also had plans after the wedding and the chapel staff and the photographer were very good about being aware of our time frame and making it work.

When it was all said and done I have to say that everyone that was there in Vegas as well as our friends and relatives watching from home thought the wedding was just beautiful. I really felt like the staff made us feel like my daughter's wedding was the most important wedding they had ever done. Their customer service was just that good!!

Best wishes on your upcoming wedding!!! I know you'll be in excellent hands with Vegas Weddings!!

Anyone have any experience with A Little Wedding Chapel - the one with the drive-thru chapel?

A friend of mine said that she was married there about 18 years ago and would like to hear what others have to say...

We did Little Church of the West on the Strip near Mandalay Bay.
    I would highly reccomend it.
Wide variety of packages and very nice!
