I'm a travel agent and today I had a request to check rooms in LAS on the strip for under $100 with taxes included. I'm thinking....sure, I can find something....IP, Bill's and Casino Royale came to mind. The date is May 4th one night for 3 guys from Japan.

I haven't paid a regular price for a room in Vegas in over 10 years but I tell you I was SHOCKED when I saw the rates for that night....$120 at IP, $180 at Bills and CR was sold out. Riviera's rate was high, Circus Circus was the best price at $108 plus tax.

I understand it is a Friday night but man do people really pay these prices? Crazy.

I did the exact same weekend in 2007... which was also the Mayweather v. de la Hoya fight. We ended up staying at some decent non-casino on Tropicana for about $80 that night.

I have heard that Circus Circus rooms have gotten a quiet upgrade, and aren't all that bad.

huge weekend with the Mayweather fight. one of the worst possible weekends to try to get a cheap room at the last minute.

AH ok that makes sense. I wouldn't pay any amount to see that dumbass fight. Can't stand him. Wished de la Hoya had knocked his bitch ass out last time...it was a cheap shot and in my opinion not a fair win.....

Sorry, he gets me riled up!

It seems there is something going on the entire Month.
You can bet I will be calling a few times before my trip in May to confirm they still have my comped rooms saved.

Haha so I'm tyring to fall asleep last night and I sit up suddenly thinking....DUH! It wasn't De La Hoya I was trying to mention -- Mayweather fought Ortiz. how strange the things that just pop into your head. I had to correct myself LOL got those 2 mixed up.

Spur of the moment travel can be very expensive on the strip.

People have to learn to book way in advance or be flexiable on the dates.

I booked Ballys way in advance real cheap and now the rates have gone up
for the month of May for my same dates. I am glad I booked early.

Info. for the travel agents: room rates go up and down right before your eyes. They are like the airline companies now.

Only difference is if it goes down at any time, you can get the lower rate.

Anyone know why the weekend of June 8 is so expensive?
