I've been hearing stories on how certain hotels will only let you in on New Year's Eve if you have a room key. My question is, what if you have show tickets or a restaurant reservation on the property? If that's the case, will they let you in?

    thanks

Yes they will, be prepared to show proof though.

The hotels usually don't start closing their doors until 8-9PM so if your show and/or dinner reservations are before that you will be fine.

Otherwise, as was said: if you have a dinner reservation, show tickets or party ticket/invite you will get in, but they might ask for proof.

As well, if you are going to Harrah's they let you in if you have a Total Rewards card or a room key and the hotels with monorail stations let you in if you can show them a ticket from the same day (thats not a special monorail deal/promotion, its under the assumption that you are rode the monorail to get to the festivities and are going to ride it back).
