Hi, question regarding comped rooms from Mlife properties.
I stayed at Aria last month and did most of my play at Aria and Monte Carlo. I am a craps player and my wife is a slot junkie. Our Mlife card is linked. I ended up playing at Monte Carlo quite a bit as I had some good sessions there over the 5 days that we were in Vegas. It was a very good trip and I was up quite a bit from MC. I figured they would be coming after me to come play and stay there again to try to take back what I took from them haha, but I ended up getting an email from a host at Mandalay Bay??
After reading a lot on here that Mlife is more hotel centric on specific comps for your play, is this normal to have a host from another casino come looking for you? Last time I stayed at MB was 4 years ago so it can't be that. Do the hosts for Mlife go through the player data base for all their hotels and attempt to bring them in? Thanks in advance...

I get a lot of emails from hosts at MB. I play there just not as heavy as NYNY and MGM. I think it is just because they have a lot of concerts there. They never offer anything specific, just to contact them if I want to stay there.

It does appear that MGM allows some intramural competition in marketing, so your scenario where a single property is allowed to go fishing in the big pool is plausible.

It may also be that Mandalay is underperforming and so is given special dispensation to poach. Who knows?

I get those host emails occasionally, they are not actually generated by the host. There's usually a list of events and an "I'm interested" button to click on. I clicked on the button once and nothing ever happened as far as a follow up, so if you're interested in staying there, I'd contact the host directly.

I did indeed contact the host, and she offered me 3 nights on any night of the week, just pick the dates and let her know. But ya, I was thinking that MB may be on a push for players or she could be a new host needing clients.

    I don't think it's MBay specific.
My last 4 trips have been to Aria and I get emails from hosts at Mirage,Bellagio, and MGM.
I used to get them from hosts NYNY and MBay before I ever stayed or played at either property.
