Hi...I called the D and asked to speak to the host on duty. I was told that if I don't have a host already (I do not), they cannot transfer my call into the host office. Instead, they advised next time I am at the D I ask to speak to a host and one will be assigned to me at that time. Has anyone run into this before? The few times I've called a casino to talk to the host on duty it wasn't a problem - I was surprised the D has this policy.

I would tell them, 'not a problem, just transfer me to the host's office at the Nugget'. Or anywhere else. That's bogus!

What level of play is "host worthy" at The D?

PayTriple is right. Derek Stevens would love to know about this. I will also contact my host to see if that is the policy.

However, in their defense, the D is a small shop and may not have "duty hosts".

I contacted my host and she said that the answer you received was incorrect and she will take it up with her boss. There are "duty hosts" at the D.

The Beau does this same sham.

You can't get your call transferred to the host office from the main switchboard.

If you don't have their phone number you're screwed.

I am on my 5th or 6th host at the D in the last 2 or 3 years. Every so often I get an email that my host is no longer with the D and I have a new one. Not sure why they keep leaving.
