Sending prayers and good wishes to our VMB friends or those with friends and family in FL. Looks like it is going to be bad. My sister and her family are west of Orlando. They all got home around noon and are now hunkered in. We have lived though New England hurricanes but nothing like this.

Wishing for the best for everybody

We live about 6 miles from the ocean in an area where the eye is forecast to be a major hurricane (110 mph or more). We have good protection from the wind but power loss is certain. The worst wind will occur about noon Friday but winds and heavy, heavy rain will be all night tonight. Our small dog will likely suffer the most as she does not like thunder and the heat will bother her.

Hang on tight and safety over anything else. Property can always be replaced, people can't. I'll be thinking of our FL friends.

In Wisconsin we have two seasons--Shovel (snow) and Swat (mosquitos).
Can't imagine what it's like to have a hurricane season!
Sad to watch the news and recognize affected places in Jamaica and the Bahamas that I've visited.

Positive vibes on the way for all of you, FL!

Having been raised on the Alabama coast I can say from firsthand experience it's going to be a scary night and Friday morning for a lot of people. My thoughts are with you

I live about 20 Miles from the Gulf of Mexico and I have been through a couple of Cat 1's which are scary enough. I hope that everyone comes through safely. Always remember, property can be replaced; lives can't!

Just came back from Orlando and our scheduled flight yesterday afternoon was the 2nd to last one SWA offered to Chicago-Midway. Was very fortunate that it wasn't canceled.

Hope the eye stays in the ocean for as long as possible. 24 hrs ago, it looked like it would be even worse. :(
