A friend of mine is planning on heading out Dec 9-12 and staying at Aria. She was told most if not all of the restaurants would be on "holiday shut down" that week (she called VIP Services, and that person told her).

Does anyone know if that's true with other places? We are going Dec 16-20, and I hope lots of places aren't closed.

When we were at Cosmopolitan a couple of weeks ago, a couple of bartenders said that closures start there after Thanksgiving weekend and go through Christmas week. I assume that applies to the casino bars but I wouldn't be surprised if some of the restaurants restrict hours as well.

The time between the rodeo and Christmas is pretty much the slowest time of the year for Las Vegas and that is when a few shows and restaurants close to give staff holidays, do little repairs/upgrades/updates, etc.

But it won't be "most if not all" because people still have to eat and a hotel/casino won't want to have all its dining options closed so people have to go elsewhere.

So depending on where you are, your dining choices may be a little limited, but you should be able to find something to suit most tastes.

Thanks. It sounds as if my friend was given info that was probably a little extreme.
Crossing my fingers that Mon Ami Gabi is not closed while we are there; that is our favorite spot. :)

You might want to call the restaurant and check with them if they are on some kind of limited schedule just to be on the safe side.

I go every year at this time, and it truly isn't all that noticeable that a few places are closed. Don't worry. Most places worth going to are open.
