For history buffs, you can take a short bus ride north of the FSE and visit the original Morman settlement which is now a state park. There is a partial reconstruction of the fort and it makes for an interesting break from big city activities. Though there are 32 million visitors to LV annually, I spent a couple of hours at the park alone (aside from staff). It is just minutes from both the museum of natural history and the children's museum as well.
