My handle is DaiLun, for those of you who speak/understand Cantonese, you know what that means. I am a fifth generation American born Chinese, so as one Chinese gal told me "Oh, you are American, you just look Chinese.". I have been casino gambling for the last 38+ years. I was around when Player's clubs first started, and since then, my goal has been to "maximize comps at the lowest cost to me.". My first "scam" was at Harrah's Reno when the machines counted down and when they hit zero, they credited a point to your card. The system was not that sophisticated back then, and it was a set amount of pulls per machine, not player's club card. So, it you found a machine that had 001 or 002 on it's card counter, all it would take would be 1 or 2 coins to get a comp point. I have gambled all over the US and overseas in Macau (pre LV style). I have gambled at Foxwoods, Mohegan Sun, Atlantic City, and Seminole in Florida I was very much "into" on-line gambling in the 90's. Hit my only Royal Flush on-line, and actually got paid $4000 for it. Right now, I'm primarily focusing on Las Vegas. I live an hour's flight away and fares on Southwest are fairly inexpensive. My preferred car rental is Sixt. In 2014 I visited LV 12 times, with stays from 1 to 4 days. I am a Silver Striker (one who collects Silver Strikes), which accounts for my one day downtown trips. My largest slot win was A little over $12,000 on a dollar machine at Cache Creek on December 25, 2009. I primarily play slots, but will play Blackjack or craps if I get match play coupons I am currently: Grazie Gold mLife Platinum and am on the comp list at: (RFF=room, food, Freeplay) Wynncore (low RFF) the D (high RFF) Golden Gate (low RFF) Golden Nugget (low RFF) Boyd (low RFF) Station (RFF) I'm old (well, not collecting SS, but too old for EDC) and single (divorced with primary custody of my 13 year old), so the luxury of the strip is mostly wasted on me. I only use the room to sleep, so I mostly stay Downtown. If I have a female guest accompanying me, I will take a suite on the Strip at Wynn or V/P. My stack of slot membership cards is about 1 1/2 inches high Have I bored you enough yet? I go to "get away" from life's responsibilities. I thought had a very good year in 2014, with (14) W2-Gs, and at the end of the year I thought I was still playing with house money, but after I accumulated my win/loss, I found out that including comps, I was about even or down $1000, which I guess wasn't bad considering I made 12 trips. Just remember, W2-Gs don't really mean anything. I got my first W2-G at the Wynn on 1/2/2015 for $1500. The downside was that I was $1900 into a $2000 marker. OK, end of the story. Please remember to only gamble what you can afford to, and gamble to have fun, and don't chase comps. Of course, I have violated all three of these rules at some point in the last 38+ years. Happy gambling, and have a nice day. Hope this wasn't TMI. I'm often guilty of that. I try to post a trip report on every trip.
