Hi guys. Been viewing this site for a while as a guest and thought it was about time I joined and started contributing. Only discovered Vegas in 2008 and have just booked visit number 4 (I love it). Im thinking City centre this time but Aria or Cosmopolitan? Could you still get your room comped at latter?

    Welcome aboard, kesto.

Technically, Cosmopolitan is not part of City Center (a common misconception, though). City Center is Aria (hotel/casino), Vdara (hotel), Crystals (shopping), Mandarin Oriental (hotel), Veer (condos) and Harmon (world’s most expensive billboard).

Certainly it is possible to get either Aria or Cosmo to comp your room/food/beverage/etc. But they are different companies with different player’s clubs. So, you wouldn’t be able to play at one and get credited for that play at the other. Aria is part of Mlife (MGM Resorts player’s club). Cosmo’s player’s club is called Identity and it is a one off.

I think the conventional wisdom is that Aria would probably be a bit more generous with back end comps. Though, I’ve received some fairly generous marketing offers from Cosmo without giving them the amount of play that a typical high end place would require for comps.

If you’d like suggestions as to where folks on this board would prefer to stay, I’d suggest starting a thread in the “LV Strip Casinos” forum. You’ll probably get many more relevant responses that way. (I can’t really help as I’ve not yet stayed at Cosmo – I’ve enjoyed my stays at Aria and my visits to Cosmo, though.)
