The standard rooms at Gold Coast have been recently renovated, and they are the new premium rooms.

Therefore, the former premium rooms have become the standard rooms. Great raaaaaatttees!

    Gold Coast rooms

    Thats great to know.
I just booked 2 nites there yesterday. I had no idea what the difference was between the 2. Only thing I could tell from their website was internet connection. I went with the least expensive. (hate to say cheaper)
    sounds like I did good.
This will be my first time staying there.

It looks like the new Premium rooms have tubs. I don't know if it's a tub worth going out of your way to get but it does matter to some. It's weird that they are the same size room but the pic on the web make one seem larger than the other.

Yes, what was the standard room last sept has been updated, and is now the "premium" room.

The premium room from last sept is therefore now the standard.

The former premium has been downgraded--not in quality but in price. Lower rates.

No I have not stayed in the newly renovated room BUT when I went to reserve, the photos showed the previous premium room as standard so I called to confirm and they gave me this information.

Why do you not liike "cheaper"? Some on the board has some aversion to the term...but not me.

Yes, the least expensive room is the room I have stayed in and like.

I have taken offers there for their suites. They are clean and decent. Only problem is I can't win a dang thing there playing slots. But I love the Cortez restaurant. Fabulous service and were willing to try making any drink that us Canadians desired. I give the staff at at the Cortez an A+ for great food and fabulous service. Everyone at that casino made us feel welcome and they got some money out of us as well. Just wish I could hit something there.

They are very generous with their comps too.

I just booked 2 comp nights in a new/old "Premium" room for next month. I stayed in one of the old Premium/now Standard rooms last year. It was o.k., but that shower was drafty!! The other thing I didn't like was no full length (or even 3/4 length, like at the Orleans) mirror.

Hopefully Gold Coast is keeping their lower than the Strip buffet prices ($7.99-$9.99) as i will make the trip next door (staying at Rio) on numerous occasions.

I'm staying at the Gold Coast for a week starting next weekend and upgraded to a Premium room, though I booked it a couple months ago, so we'll see what I get. I enjoyed the 'previous' Premium rooms, so looking forward to the newer versions. The Gold Coast has been my go-to hotel for the last couple years and likely will be for a very long time.

One big advantage is that they don't have many rooms, so check-in rarely has more than a couple people in line. They also allow me to check in early without charge (as have all Boyd properties I've stayed at), and it's terrific central location for all my destination whims.
