Hi everyone! I've enjoyed browsing and participating in the discussions on this board and I figured there are no better people to help plan my (our) trip!

We are Mr. And Mrs. K, a late 30's no-kids couple in Southern California. We've been to Vegas together five times and many times separately. We enjoy slots (me more than him), VP, beer, people-watching, and NO ATTITUDE. No clubs. No pool parties.

We can go pretty much any Weds-Sun for 3-4 nights in March or early April. So help us plan!

    1. When should we go? Any insane events or conventions we should avoid?

    2. Where should we stay? We have comp nights at Mlife ranging from 4 nights in a suite at Excalibur to BOGO at Aria and Bellagio. We're leaning toward 2 comp nights at Mirage and paying for an additional night or two. We don't want to change hotels. We've previously stayed at MB, Bellagio, Aria and Monte Carlo.

    3. Where should we eat? We like casual places most, and light food, with a splurge night of steak or gourmet burgers. Some of our favorites are Citizen's, Nobu, Burger Bar and Secret Pizza.

    4. We have been looking for a low key lounge with hip hop music. We can't find one. Same for a casino playing hip hop. We like PH for this but were disappointed last time we went there.

TIA, I can't wait to see what you come up with!

I HATE you Californians and your easy access to Vegas ;)

    2 suggestions for you.
    1. Go to the Riviera. Say goodbye :( (buy a few souvenirs, probably be worth something to a collector some day)
    2. Go to CAPO'S on Sahara. It IS off the strip, and it's not the cheapest joint in town, BUT the atmosphere, service and food is top notch. http://caposrestaurant.com/about.html

If you don't like crowds I would avoid the weekend of the 21st of March as its the opening weekend of the NCAA tournament and it's a big I flux of people for that. Second weekend of the 28th still an uptick in the crowd but not nearly like the first.

Capo's looks cool, thanks! And I never have been to the Riviera and probably would go just to take some pics before it goes bye bye.
