Good Day VMB! I must warn you that this post may be long, so I will apologise in advance for that! After many years talking about the possibility of me and my mates having the opportunity to come to Vegas for a stag do, the time is finally upon us to start planning as my best friend proposed earlier this year, and the trip is now booked for the 1st week in April next year A little bit about us - at the moment there is 6 of us booked on the trip, plus the father of the groom and father of the bride, who will be joining us for the final couple of days. We are a bunch of 25/26 year olds from the north of the UK (Newcastle to be exact) and will be staying at the luxor for 7 nights. I would consider us pretty normal lads, we enjoy most sports, football (soccer) predominately but if there is any sport on TV then we will watch it. 3 or 4 of us, myself included are pretty big poker fans so we no doubt will try to fit a few sessions in during the week. I as the best man have been given the task of planning the trip, and whilst I don't want to make it too itinerary heavy, I do feel like we should have some plans set in place so that we "do Vegas right". I am also the only one of us that has any Vegas experience, with 2 previous trips in the book and another one only couple of weeks away so i want to try and let the guys experience as much as Vegas as they can and hopefully will fall in love with the city just like the rest of us!! With that in mind I have tried to put together a short schedule that I feel would be good for us to do - Please Note, non of below is booked and I expect quite a lot of this to change in the coming months. Id love to here your recommendations, opinions, experiences or anything you feel that I may have missed and feel like we would benefit by doing Saturday - We face the long trip from the UK starting on Saturday morning. I believe door to door the trip (baring no delays) will probably be 20 hours +. We will no doubt be drinking copious amounts and i have no idea what state we will be in when we arrive in Vegas. I don't really feel the need to book anything for this day apart from possibility presidential limo from the airport to our hotel. Would you recommend this? what are peoples opinions of this? I still remember my 1st trip to Vegas and being in absolute awe traveling from the airport to our hotel. I feel like this would be a nice way to start the trip, possibly have couple of beers in the limo and arrive in style to our hotel, this is vegas after all! After we check in (early evening) i really see no need to plan anything for our 1st night. We may be tired, drunk, hungry etc etc so i feel like playing the 1st night by ear is probably best. Sunday - Again will be dependant on how we are feeling, however we are pretty big golf fans (although terrible players) so I feel like it may be a good idea to stretch our legs and get out on the course for couple of hours. as i mentioned we are pretty terrible players, we play a par 3 9 hole course a couple of miles from ours and a typical score would range from 38 - 42 LOL. I didn't feel like we would be able to handle a full 18 hole course, so looked around and came across the taylor made golf experience. A par 3, 9 hole course...Perfect! Does anybody have any experiences with this? As casual golfers i feel like this would be perfect for us, and baring any terrible reviews, I'm pretty sure we will book this up. Afternoon and evening will be as everyone pleases, jet lag may start to kick in so again we can just play this by ear. Monday - I feel like this may be a good time to put some hours in at the poker tables, whilst i enjoy playing at the top rooms - Aria,Wynn, Bellagio, I feel like it will be better to take a trip to a more casual poker room for some touristy/drunken fun. Anybody have any recommendations regarding this? Splash pots, Bad beat bonuses, Wheel spins etc would be what we are after, I seem to recall reading somewhere that exclaliber had something similar to this, and have also heard Planet Hollywood is a fun game so we may try that. Again any input would be appreciated. Monday night is a strange one, I'm toying with the idea of booking a show to go to. Not very stag party esk I know, however I just feel seeing a show is part of Vegas and something I know the boys would enjoy. Whilst me and the mrs are massive Cirque fans, i don't feel like a Cirque show would have the correct vibe for us and could imagine a few of the boys nodding off LOL. Two thoughts from the top of my head are Absinth or David Copperfield. Two very difference shows i know. Absinth seems to get great reviews and i feel like it would be one hell of a night. DC is bit of a difference vibe, but i know some of the boys enjoy magic and having previously seen this show I know they would enjoy it. I have also seen Penn & teller and actually enjoyed that show more, however the seating kinda bugged me and to have 6/8 of us sitting in a row isn't really what I'm after. At DC we were able to snag a table and had drinks/snacks which only added to the experience, I feel like if we could get a couple of tables then this may be a good option. Again your recommendations are appreciated or anything else you feel we may enjoy, please to speak up Tuesday - Felt like we should do a casino crawl this day. I read a thread on twoplustwo a few years back about a group of lads from Scotland and it looked insane, have always wanted to try it. Basically everyone must pay $10 per casino you visit and one lad will be given the money for that casino. He can do anything he wants with it and play any game, however, he can only cash out if he gets to $500. With 6/8 of us present, that would give them $60/80 so play with and try to spin up to 500. Obviously anytime a player gets to 500 this would be stuck in the kitty and shared out at the end of the day. Everyone present must also have a drink in every casino they visit so it could up getting extremely messy! Wednesday - Was thinking of the possibility of hitting the outlets as kinda a chill out day and spending some time relaxing by the pool. Not going to plan too much as i have no idea what kind of state we will be in from the night before! Thursday - This is the day that the groom/brides father are arriving so I'm trying to plan a nice meal on the evening. We certainly are not massive foodies, and going somewhere too posh would probably put a couple of the lads off. So I need somewhere that is upper class but not too posh. Off the top of my head i can think of STK at the Cosmo. Decent food, and everybody loves steak right?! I also thought we could of had some pre drinks at the chandelier bar at the Cosmo which has a great atmosphere. I am pretty awful when it comes to food choices however so i could be way off the mark choosing this place. Please do offer me some opinions as I'm sure most VMB'ers will have much more experience in this field. After the meal I feel like this is the one night we should probably try to go to a club and get bottle service. Im not a massive fan of spending a lot of $$$ for a table & a couple bottles of spirits but i do feel like it is a must atlas once whilst in Vegas. With planing pre drinks & the meal at the Cosmo, we could stay with that and hit Marquee so make things easier. That being said i am a pretty big Vegas nightclub noob so there may be much better options out there..i just don't no. Friday - I assume we will be either skint and/or hungover...haha so i don't see the need to plan anything on our last day, just go with the flow and enjoy our last day in Sin City. Saturday - Fly Home Wow that took longer than i thought haha... again the above are purely ideas that i have thought about over the last couple of weeks. I'm sure that I have left quite bit out and there are probably better options that i could have chosen, hence the thread .. please do share some ideas with me and once I have a detailed/booked itinerary I will come back to let you guys & girls know our final plans Vamoss Vegas!!
