I've been goin' to Lost Wages before there even was an internet. In case you didn't guess it, I'm Tim, from ohio. I first went to LV in '81 on a spur of a moment side trip from Los Angeles. Came in on a greyhound bus. We stopped in Barstow. I remember seeing a rack there in the bus station with gobs of fun books and coupons. I stayed in a motel on a side street by the Tropicana. Golly, even this little motel had a little casino in the lobby! I was so ignorant, I pulled out my wallet to pay when a CW brought my drink order while I played a nickle slot. I miss the old Vegas. Mechanical slots, $2.99 dinner buffets, Westward Ho, Lady Luck money booth, hole in the wall slot parlors galore, strip resorts right ON the strip. The mega resorts have the personality of a suburban strip plaza. Having said that, I'll be comin' out there in November for visit #10. These cookie cutter midwest casinos/racinos just don't cut it. They each have their protected territory and treat their customers accordingly. I prefer the wide open, minimally regulated, all-American competition for my entertainment dollar. Free TR rooms and a rock bottom airfare helped too. I'm surely due to hit the big one, right?
