How's everyone's night going? Well, I was recommended to this forum by a forum member on a different board.

Basically, I just turned 21, and me and a group of buddies are planning a trip around April when we go on spring break. I would like to become as informed as possible on Vegas, and I heard this is the place to do just that. I'll be combing through the forum, mining any information I can.

What is cet? It's the first thing I saw but everyone apparently gets rooms comped. That would be amazing. Any information or informative comments will be appreciated. Thanks for your time everyone!

Welcome to the forum. You will find this place more helpful the more you read.

As far as asking such a question it is rather a broad question. Rather go to the subforums and ask question on threads and use the search function as many people come here for the first time and ask the same question everyday.

Decide which hotel you want to stay at and then work from there. Ask lots of questions!

CET is Caesars Entertainment, which owns about half the resorts on the Strip.

Welcome to the board and congrats on your upcoming 1st trip to Mecca. Many members get comped room at a CET hotel (Paris / Bally's / Caesars / Harrah's / Rio / PH...etc) by getting a Total Rewards players card and gambling at their casinos. They don't just give rooms away....you must get established with a gambling record with them which isn't real difficult to do. Recently, most hotels have instituted a "resort fee" on top of the room charge which increases the cost.
Post any questions you may have in the appropriate thread and everyone will try to help you! Good luck.

Thanks guys! And damn, this will. Be my first trip. After paying for hotel and what not I plan on taking around $1,000 cash. Where is the right sub forum for a young college student like myself, looking to play Vegas smart.

Well....you might check out the Nightlife section for tips / read trip reports for updates and current specials around town. Definitely should hang out at Cosmo & PH some....lots around your age looking for fun times. Always get a rewards card for Total Rewards and Mlife and use them whenever you gamble to help you get future offers. Be careful and budget your money....no fun at all to lose it in the 1st 24 hours!!! :)

If you plan on making Vegas a regular destination and you want to get free room offers in the future you want to focus your play at one property a day your first trip. This will give you the best odds for a future room comp. A $1000 budget probably won't get you any attention at a higher end property unless you get hot and are able to give a lot of action. Try mid tier, or lower tier properties you would be happy staying at.

Also don't forget to get a players card and give them your address and email. Use the card whenever you buy in at a table and make sure it's active anytime you plays slots or video poker.
