    Hi y'all,

I used to be on this board when I lived in Buffalo, NY. Can't remember what my login ID was so changed it to this new one now that I live in the ATL. I recognize some of your names from way back when so hello again!

We used to be Vegas regulars. Not crazy amounts of trips but went every year in the fall and always was comped rooms through CET. We made a move to Atlanta and just weren't settled in until now so haven't been since fall of 2010 I believe. I was getting comped and cheap rooms even up until April of this year but now I am not getting anything. When I log into my Total rewards acct, I have no offers anymore. Bummer as we are finally getting back into it and going in the fall of this year.

I was trying to get back on their radar so signed up for the new Harrahs Visa and got my $10,000 points and platinum status as part of the spend $750 in first 90 days deal but I just did that within the last 30 days and haven't even received the bill yet. Do you think that will help me get comps again? or will I have to just bite the bullet and pay to stay this year to get myself back in the comp game? I see they are now charging resort fees...do they do that even if your room is comped?

I know Harrahs was always the most free with their comps. Has that changed? We have stayed at Venetian/Palazzo before as well and I have some good prices for them but nothing comped there either because of how long it has been. Should I try a new group of hotels? ie MGM, Mirage? Or is Harrahs still best with comped rooms? I really actually like to gamble at Harrahs casino because their slots are good to me and my hubby likes to play at Paris so we do mostly play at those two but that was also because we were always trying to rack up points, comps etc. so we aren't against trying another hotel consortium.

Anyway, hello again and thanks for your feedback!!

your offers is based or your play not by getting a credit card.
the credit card making you platnium should wave the resort fees but i assume you will be paying for the rooms.

only way around it is calling for a host and to see if they will comp you up front

Also check the rates calendar on the TR website, not just the offers section. You may see some reduced rates (or even free) rooms there.

It might be worth calling. When I first started playing at CET I was getting Vegas offers only. I called and asked why I wasnt getting AC offers. I was given the corporate line about offers based on past play, but I had AC offers within a week.

But, in your case you dont have any current play so you may have difficulty getting up front comps.

I'm returning to Vegas again after a few years. I live in NC and have managed to stay Platinum playing in Atlantic City and Cherokee. Not sure if its doable for you but a quick trip to Cherokee may get you back in comp land for Vegas. Cherokee is only 2 hrs from ATL.
