It will be the second time we have been. My wife and I went last year for the first time and stayed at Aria for 4 nights. We tried to fit in a little bit of everything last time (Gambled at different spots, poker, we ate at a few buffets and a few nicer restaurants, walked up and down the strip and toured just about every casino, went to Downtown Vegas, saw a couple shows, spent some time by the pool).

This time we are going with another couple (first timers) and staying at Monte Carlo. Can't wait! All of us are mid 20's. Any can't miss things while we are there this time? Can't miss deals? We aren't big into the club scene.. we do like to drink, my buddy and I are big into sports and poker and our significant others are more into shows..

Welcome any advice any of you guys may have!

    Thanks!

If you haven't already, I would give the Venetian poker room a try. My favorite room in Vegas, if your a sports fan the Venetian also has Lagasse stadium which is pretty cool!

As for deals, on your way back from Venetian stop by Casino Royale and get some dollar Michelobs!! Their mixed drinks are pretty cheap as well!!

The Venetian has one of the biggest (and nicest!) poker rooms on the strip. There are a couple of tables $1/$2 running all day long and some $2/$5, sometimes even higher. If you are into poker, give Planet Hollywood a try, it is my favorite poker room on the strip (well, may be next to Bellagio). In the evening, there are a lot of drunk, weak players. Easy money ;)

Can't say much about sports betting, but I have read that the Mirage and Bellagio sports books are really nice.

Regarding shows: I have seen O, Ká, Love and Rock of Ages so far and can highly recommend all of them! Check out tix4tonite (various locations on the strip) for discounted tickets.

Reader1700 knows whereof he speaks! I am 65 and my poker playing friend just turned 30. We both love the Venetian, others as well.

BTW, I'll be in town 4/7–4/12 Perhaps we'll meet at a 1/2 table or tournament.

Very nice. I used to live in Tampa and used to make a killing off of tables like that at Poker at the Hard Rock Casino there..

    That would be neat!
