    Have a great time

I've never been to Hawaii. I planned a trip recently, but the cost is outrageous. For me at least. If I could plan one a year in advance and not have to shell out a grand just to get the plan moving, it would be done.

Yes. I remember well. Was going to fly there and rent a car and then camp at the different campgrounds around the islands. I also wanted a zipline adventure. In the end, 1500 for a 7 day camping trip was way overboard. For the same 1500, that would be months on the mainland.

Enjoy the trip. And don't forget to send post cards to the neighbors!

Well we're home now -- and broke. It was quite expensive but totally worth it. The only bad thing? It wasn't long enough. You need at least 2 weeks there. 5 days just wasn't enough. My kids say they want to go back every year now. I told them then they better get jobs! (they're only 11 and 14 hehe)

    If you miss Hawaii......

Just go shopping at the ABC Stores in Vegas when you start missing Hawaii.
You can go shopping there for anything else you may have wanted to buy
    in Hawaii.
I have been to Hawaii many times and when I saw the ABC Store in Vegas
I got sooo happy and went shopping for their pearl jewelry. Lucy

Just quickly glimpsed thru your trip report - awesome!! Just curious; where was that condo you were staying in and how did you find it?

You are so right; 5 days is DEFINITELY not enough time to do Hawaii, even just one island. We went 4 years ago and just did Kauai for 7 nights(with 1/2 day in Honolulu on the way home) and it wasn't enough time for one small island, LOL!! But God, we had a blast. I loved Kauai and want to go back but the last couple of years it's been Mexico (Playa del Carmen) instead as it's closer and cheaper...
