After a $3 bet on a penny slot game, an Oahu, Hawaii resident walked away with a jackpot of more than $10.7 million on an IGT Megabucks Wynn Wheel machine around 9 p.m. on Sunday at Wynn Las Vegas.

The guest was playing the penny machine in $3 wagers when the jackpot hit. She went home with a total payout of $10,777,270.51.

Megabucks Wynn Wheel is a custom game built by IGT specifically for Wynn Las Vegas. The game features developer Steve Wynn’s portrait and includes custom video reels.

Congratulations to my long lost Aunty...!!!

Wasn't anyone I know, ha ha. I heard about it last night.

Next they will show a picture of the check with the girl standing behind the check so nobody can see who she is. If I ever won the megabucks I also wouldn't show my face too, too many moochers wanting a piece of the winnings.

Yep, that's the dream right there. That's why I throw a sacrificial hundie in Megabucks every trip. After taxes you walk away with what, around $7M?

Buy a condo on the strip for $500K, spend another $500K on the family, a car, and stuff to fit out the condo, then spend the rest of my life spending (and earning interest).

Sadly no, that $10.7 million is in yearly increments over 25 years. If you want a lump sum (as most do) you get about 60%, so roughly $6.4 million in this case, from which you would pay about 40% taxes for a take home amount of about $3.9 - which of course is still an awful lot of money but a lot less than it seems from the get go.

On the topic - that's too bad for me, I'm going over the weekend but now that it's hit I don't want to play it (even though I know logically the odds are the same, I just don't want to play so soon after a hit).
