I know the Main Tower rooms have all been renovated but the last time I walked through the Bellagio (in 2010), the casino and other public areas were starting to look a little worn, particularly the carpets. I loved B when it was new and we're bringing some friends there next Spring who have never been to Vegas and I'm just hoping they won't be disappointed.

Not that I noticed when I was there last month. Usual seasonal changes to the conservatory, but I think the public areas have been the same for at least the past couple years

Well I just made reservations to stay there the end of February so I'm sure they'll see to it that the common areas are addressed in time for my arrival. :p

We made a brief visit to Bellagio casino in mid-October and I didn't notice any renovations to the public areas.

To me the most obvious things in the casino which need to be replaced are the carpets (worn spots as noted by a previous poster) and those little fabric "valances" hanging from the ceiling to demarcate the different gaming areas. Those valances are soooo badly faded and should have been replaced years ago. It amazes me that the B management team spends $$$ to replace the delightful displays in the conservatory every season, yet apparently doesn't care if their casino floor projects a faded reflection of her glory years.

So long as your friends don't visit any of the newer casinos they won't be disappointed in B. I, too, loved B when it was new (and I still stop by to see the conservatory display on each trip) - but it just isn't the prettiest girl at the dance anymore. If I were bringing first-timers I'd encourage them to stay at Aria Sky Suites or Cosmo (depending on their ages).

The drapes around the lights were replaced in 2006 but I suppose 6 years is a long time in Vegas terms.
