Has CET finally cut me off now...?

I am a low-roller who has enjoyed free room comps at lower-tier CET properties (Harrah's, Bally's, Imperial Palace, Flamingo) for 4 years now. In the past, for several trips, I have gotten free rooms mid-week for 2 nights (sometimes 4 nights) through offers via totalrewards.com.

But now, logging in to my account, my offers seem to have stopped. They are expiring at the end of July-- just a few days away-- and no offers past July.

My next trip isn't until October (I've booked airfare), but I'm trying to book rooms. But it looks like CET is cutting me off. Even if I go through "Reservations" (and not use an offer), I'm not getting anything for free, even for Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

So, my question is-- are any other low-rollers getting this, too? Has the gravy train from CET ceased? Are they too busy now spending money on The LINQ to accomodate low-rollers with freebie rooms?

Looking at my play for the last trip, where I got 2 free nights at Bally's, it wasn't high by any means, but I did play slots (and VP) and live poker for several hours at several CET properties, so I didn't really change my playing habits...

So, again, I'm just wondering if anyone else is getting the same treatment from CET, or if I should wait a few weeks and hope for offers to magically post to my account...

    Thanks for any replies.

I got cut off too....But I only enjoyed comps for about six months. My comps went away after I played the "escape to total rewards" game and won about 65 bucks in RCs. If I would've known playing the game would eliminate my comps, I would have never played!

On a two night trip, how much of a gambling budget do you have? I consider myself somewhat a low roller and I usually take about $1,000 and my wife $500 and luckily, we have not paid for a room in about 3 years. We even got a couple free nights at CP during the week about 8 months ago. Currently, I have about 22 offers through the end of the year shown in my account. I am guessing that your last couple trips you didn't put enough money through the slots/VP. Don't forget to use your card when you eat and buy show tix! It all adds up.

We haven't stayed at or played at a CET property in probably 18 months but we still have offers through the end of the year.

They won't take away offers if you don't play there.

Offers should be based off past history. If the casino believes that they will get money out of you if they give you a cheap/comped room, they will do so. If you get the room and play $100/day, sooner or later they are going to stop giving you offers.

October is a pretty popular month. Even so, when I look at the availability calendars (I get comped most nights except at Caesars and PHo), it looks to me like CET is pricing a little optimistically.

You may find some pockets of comps during the week appearing as the days go by unless you totally stiffed them on your last trip. Just check every day.

I feel this may be happening because Mlife is so messed up right now and people are jumping ship to CET. All but the highest ADT players are getting knocked down a notch and the lowest of players may be getting knocked off the radar all together. Just a theory.

I have heard this in a couple different posts. I won $180 in the contest, and my offers are going downhill after July. I just made diamond for the first time on my last trip, so this is kind of frustrating.

Do we know for sure if winning rewards credits hurts our comps? After I spend the credits, will I get my offers back at the same level.

I played the "Escape to Total Rewards" game and I won a trip to Atlantic City as well. I go on two trips to Vegas a year and I consider myself a low roller. I take about $500 with me in gambling money for a 4 day trip. I booked a trip about a month ago and got 4 nights comped at Planet Hollywood this coming week. I just looked at my offers and all my offers go towards the end of the year. I guess it hasn't hit me yet.

Could it have something to do with the imminent closure/rebranding of IP? Fewer rooms to go around could mean stingy comps until they are back up and running.

My wife and I usually play about 150/day budget total (not coin in) and we do not go to Vegas that often but are still getting rooms comped going through the TR res. site. She does have offers but they never are as good as when we just use the reservation link. We live in Ohio and have done a couple trips to the new Cleveland casino and I think that might have helped as PH came through comped on weeknights. Before the Cle. trips it was not. Do you have any local CET casino that you can go to say every 3 months if you are trying build up with them? I know chasing comps isn't a good idea but if we are going to play we try to play where it will help us with room costs.

I don't get the overall praise CET gets for their room comps.

First of all the only thing they ever comp are base level rooms which are outdated at EVERY property they own in Vegas. Think tube televisions, hard beds, and outdated furniture.

Second, their point system leaves a lot to be desired. I have to play through $2000.00 for a $4.00 comp

I wouldn't worry if they are cutting you off. What they were offering prior wasn't exactly groundbreaking.

The praise is coming from people with a $500 total gambling budget. If you have $2k+, don't spend it at CET. You get cheap rooms very easy, but expensive rooms are very difficult. Head to MGM or TI for better mid level comps.

They have long cut me off. However, I was able to get back on the good side in the AC market with a $800/day budget over several hours. But I had to visit the property on two different occasions playing at that level before getting back into their good graces. lol I just do not bring that much to my long Vegas vacations. But I bet it would be a cinch to get comps by them in the Vegas market if I went on much shorter trips.

Yeah those games are bad because people play the minimum needed and don't play a good-sized budget when touring those casinos. Sorry to hear of all the mishaps.

CET is consistent though, Mlife is not. You never know what to expect with them no matter how much you play. I don't want to accidentally drop $2k and get casino rates!!

I don't know if this is true or not because I also had comps at MGM hotels for that week for the mid and lower casinos. I'm leery of the MGM conglomerate because a couple of years ago I had a comp for my entire trip to NYNY and was told it would be 100% comped, no need to worry about anything. I get to the desk and get told I have to pay a resort fee and incidental fee. Okay, I could understand the incidental fee but I specifically asked about the resort fee when I made the reservation and the woman I talked to said it wouldn't be an issue. I tried to get in touch with someone my entire trip and never could get in touch with anyone. Just decided to let it go but vowed never to go back. Yeah, I'm guilty of going back but I haven't stayed in one of their hotels since. Plus, from what I understand, the Mlife website and customer service leave a lot to be desired, especially now. Yeah, you might have better luck over at MGM casinos if you are putting through that much money but from what I've read on here and on their Facebook, I don't know if I want to deal with that.

AFAIK, IP won't be shut down to get this done. I am still vague on how or if they are even doing rooms.

As for comp offers, I have always had issues getting offers for the spring and fall quarters from most Vegas hotels. Between convention, special events and people preferring the weather then, it's easy for them to get by without low rollers. My experience is that when weak spots turn up on the calendar, they will send last minute offers. For a low roller, you are dependent on their availability.

It's really hard to say why offers aren't there for some people. Sometimes, it's was a change in play patterns or they may have decided you were overcomped in the past. I can't really see the contest would have affected anyone's comps, especially since the last one wasn't dependent on casino visits. The best advice I can give is to call direct and see if there is something they can do for you if you don't have an actual offer or comp nights on the calendar.

I have offers thru October and can book comped nights with no problem too. Last October was very difficult so I skipped it - must have been too many conventions.

Paris has put new bedding in even the standard rooms. And FAB have new beds also. I can get GO comped with my level of play too & normally take that. I don't consider any of the rooms I have stayed in outdated & think you are being very insulting sco5123.

Would I prefer a flat TV? Yes, but I don't have one at home either so for me this is not an issue. I am in Vegas to have fun. I do not sit in the hotel room & stare at the TV. I turn it on to check my room charges & have a bit of noise to fall asleep to.

The spring promo with the prizes had no effect on my comps at all.

Try calling TR & just see if they can offer you something better. Also, clear all temp files & cookies on your computer & try the reservation part on the website a couple more times.

Years ago, I was at Harrahs in Kansas City so often everyone that played poker there knew me by name, as did the dealers. I always had them swipe my card and I never even as much as earned a free buffet. I have since gone to several of their properties in Vegas and still have never even earned a mailer. They don't impress me one iota. Last year I went to the M and spent a couple hundy on slots and you thought I was a multi millionaire dropping tons of money in the machines, I was getting comps for everything under the sun from them. This past april we went to Sams Town and I spent very very little in there and I signed up for e-mail comps and they have been sending me very good room offers. I am not going to stoop to dropping $2000 on slot play to get a $29 room at IP. Long story longer, I wouldn't let CET's comp system bug you too much.
