They gave me free tix to a magic show there when I was there in May. There's a bunch of cheap food options nearby.

I'll just rattle off all the thrifty places are actually good and within 10 minutes (walking):
    - Earl of Sandwich @ pH
    - BRGR @ pH (for the quality of the burger, it's actually well-priced)
    - Eggslut - Cosmo
    - Hash a Go Go - Linq

If you u get player card a Casino royale they'll give u a sheet of coupons. The High roller ferris wheel usually has a discount. Also Harrahs should give u a booklet with your roomkey with a bunch of coupons one is the Mac King Magic/comedy show in earlier post

Harrah's has numerous shuttles to other casinos. They are located out the registration desk door and to the left . Follow the signs. One is to Sam's Town, takes about 20 minutes. It's a nice locals casino with a bowling alley and theaters. Another shuttle goes to the Rio. The Rio has a very good buffet and you can walk across the street to the Gold Coast. Across the street from the Gold Coast is The Palms.

I figure that the shuttles are saving me money since it takes some time to get to each casino. I like to have a break once in a while.

The slot tourney is VERY addicting & it doesn't take that many points to get an entry from all 3 places. Don't try to do it last minute right before you want your session as it can sometimes take a few minutes to register the last location. Even not winning it is still a BLAST!!!

Walking thru the gardens behind Flamingo doesn't take much time & it is very relaxing for me. I like to visit the memorial to Bugsy - pretty much right outside the wedding chapel.

Print off free tickets for the auto collection at Linq - if you google them, the link should easily come up online.

Conservatory at Bellagio - Fountains at Bellagio.

Eating? Earl was mentioned but don't eat at the Caesars food court location - it is considerably higher (or at least was) than the location at PH.

If you are traveling with someone, I would suggest one person orders an entree & the second orders a side salad, soup - whatever. They have a plate sharing fee, but if 2nd person orders something small they normally always waive that. (I've done that at Cafe St Louis at Paris a few times - we share a sandwich & an appetizer).

Volcano Nachos at Margaritaville are huge & very shareable.

Thanks all its literally been 10 years since I have been to Vegas. I'm excited to see what is new. Kinda bummed out that they just imploded the Riviera though.

The Linq is next door and you can print off free passes to the Linq Auto Collections off the collection's website. We had a fun time on our recent trip checking out all the classic cars.

I'm even more impressed you went 10 years in-between trips and still remember your username on this forum from 2004!

Flamingo habitat area is free and close by as well.

I stayed there in late June, here are some ideas:

Hash House a Go Go (Linq/Rio) - Walked past both of them, did not eat here
Guy Fieri's place at the Linq - Walked past it, did not eat here, I heard good and bad things about this place
The pool at Harrah's (wife said that as long as it was wet and clean, she was ok with it this time) - not great/not bad, served its purpose, we got wet
Harrah's piano bar and Big Elvis - Dueling Piano's at the Piano Bar was good, I just saw Elvis sitting on his throne, not doing anything
Harrah's new food court - Walked past it, did not eat here
Harrrah's Oyster bar - Wife had 1 dozen jumbo fried oysters with a little salad and it was $28, 1/2 dozen was $19.
Mon Ami Gabi - Walked past it, did not eat here
Mac King (get coupon $15pp) - Good show, but for being kid/family friendly it did have a lot of sexual references
Ellis Island (we always go here) - Had a great time

Other places that we tried/things that we did:
Carlos-n-Charlies in Flamingo - Food was good and reasonably priced ($10pp), (use free appetizer coupon on destinationcoupons.com, I highly recommend the nachos for the appetizer)
Rio buffet - Dinner was $34 per person, wife likes crab legs, it was very good, bland desserts
Gold Coast buffet - less than $10 per person, very good and good value, we go here at least once every time in town
Casino Royale - $1 Michelob Lites, do not ask for a lime, also Subway/McDonalds/ Denny's/White Castle very close or inside
Bellagio Fountains and Conservatory - Enjoyed this
Voodoo Lounge at the Rio - Great views
Volcano show at the Mirage - It was ok
