I am kind of narrowed down to these 2 hotels. Never stayed at a Harrahs property in Vegas. One thing that makes me lean towards Harrahs is that we love going to Casino Royale, but that is not a deal breaker. Both properties would be comped. Harrahs - Superior Strip View --or-- Paris - Standard Deluxe King.

Although it has been a few years since I stayed at Paris, it is significantly newer than Harrah's. I would opt for it and try the $20 trick to get an upgrade to a fountain view room.

Don't know if it's accurate or not, but I did read on another site that Harrahs was renovating there pool deck. I've never been to Harrahs to stay, and only seen their pool deck from photos. I'm wondering if an update would sway me to try it out. It had looked a little unpleasant from the pics. The Paris pool is newer, spacious and does have nice grounds.

Paris is just an all-around nicer property. We enjoy the food options at both though....

Both are okay. Paris is a step up.

But, if you are going to spend lots of time at Casino Royale, then I would do Harrahs.

Nothing better than being in Paris in the Springtime..........or for that matter anytime compared to Harrah's, especially if Paris is comped.

Paris is nicer although I always feel like I am at my grandmothers house in the rooms there that being said harrahs is basically the used toilet paper of Paris so if those are my choices id choose Paris. I prefer ballys and PH over both and the quad over harrahs.

    Hmmmm, actually a tough call.
I would easily say Paris but if you really enjoy gambling at CR you may want to go Harrahs.

I understand how being close to ones favorite spot should take priority. Since the majority of time will be at one location it is convenient to have the room right there.

I would much rather spend time venturing away from my favorite casino than venturing to my favorite casino.

No doubt on Paris. Harrahs is a lot older and the service there is much worse than it used to be...they haven't put any money into the property for quite some time although, as mentioned, it looks like renovation is on the horizon.

At Paris, you have the added benefit of the inside walkway to Ballys. There are many great food choices between the two including the Mexican restaurant in Ballys (for a snack or happy hour), the Paris buffet is good and there are several other good outlets.

You can always make it over to Planet Hollywood or the Cosmo to break up the day as well as walk down to Ellis Island for the steak special or BBQ.

Paris rooms are decent and the strip side offers a view of the fountains.

    Have a good time.

The key is where are you going to spend most of your evening gambling time.

You said you like spending time at Casino Royal, then Harrah's it is.

Our last trip was at the Flamingo for we liked Bills next door.

We have never stayed at Harrah's but we did stay at Paris Red Room one time. Back then it was a walk to the Barbary Coast.

Not a bad walk, but when we were at the Flamingo this last trip, it was REALLY nice when we got tired of the Flamingo Casino, and right next door was Bills.

Now it is going to be the OVERPRICED Crumwell! :grrr:

Yes, Paris is nicer. However, we like to gamble at both the Quad and Casino Royale and are staying at Harrah's (comped) for that reason (location, location, location). Don't want to walk the bridge alone back to Paris at the weee hours of the morning with my buzz on.

Having stayed in both props several times, I would go for Paris. The walk to Casino Royal is not really an issue for me.

Never stayed at Paris, but from my experience walking around there , it is certainly "nicer" than Harrahs. However - we generally stay at Harrahs and find the accommodations to be fine. We normally get a premium room and have had little problems. The rooms we have had are generally clean and quiet (although some have mentioned noise issues, we have not experienced that). Harrahs is close to a lot of casinos and a short walk from most anywhere on the strip. The seafood bar is good and Toby Keith's place is fun on Friday and Saturday night.

Harrahs isn't for everyone, but it certainly has its pluses. We'll be at Harrahs in two weeks, looking forward to it.

My gawd, some of you people are actually saying Harrah's over Paris because CR is next door?
So if you had a choice between Harrah's and Wynn and you like to gamble at CR, you would choose Harrah's?
    Unbelievable.

Finally, someone said it. Stay at Paris.

Like many others have said, all things considered, Paris would and should get the nod over Harrahs.

Another thing to consider, I haven't seen mentioned yet. I don't know how you're traveling, but currently the back end of Harrahs entrance, coming in off of Koval, is screwed up because of the Linq. Read this on another forum's recent trip report. We didn't have this problem on our Oct stay at Harrahs, and no telling how long this will last.

They do not have the choice of Wynn. And you can not compare Wynn to Paris on so many levels.

Harrahs is just fine. We have stayed at Harrahs, Flamingo, Ballys and Paris. We like Paris more than Harrahs, but!

We walk 5 miles often while in Vegas. But, I would not want to make the walk from CR back to Paris late each night. No way. Give me Harrahs.

If somebody likes CR, that is fine. Staying at Harrahs in this case makes way more sense than Paris. Heck, even the Harrahs Casino might be more the the OP's than Paris liking as well.

Stayed at both and personally I would do Paris and pay for the however many days you are staying monorail pass and it's a done deal.

    A week long pass is $56. Runs: Mon 7am to mid, Tues-Thur 7am to 2am, Fri-Sun 7am to 3am.

    http://www.lvmonorail.com/buy-tickets/ticket-information/

Harrahs is a great location but since it's free vs free at Harrahs my thought is whatever it costs for the monrail for 2 peeps will still beat what it costs for the room daily plus resort fees, taxes, etc.

I wish I had that type of comp offer. Yep, I'm jealous.
