Just got an interesting email I thought I would share. It was from Harrahs, assuring customers that the Metropolis casino would stay open in spite of the rising river, but stating that as of January 1, all food outlets at the casino would be closed until further notice. Related to the flooding? I have no idea. Just thought people may want to know

Yeah, Food outlets might be in lower part and are adversely affected. This was on their front page of the website.

Now that you say that, I recall the buffet and diamond lounge being on a lower level when I did a quick walk thru of the property this past spring. They were sort of along the path where the old gangplank was to the riverboat. Guess that's too close to the water

Yes, the Diamond Lounge and the buffet as well as the promotions counter are on the lower level. The steakhouse use to be down there as well, but that closed when they moved on land. Bridges Dining (the only real resturant on site) is also closed however, and it is not downstairs but in the hotel lobby area directly off the casino. My OH goes up once a week; I cannot stand the place.
