The decision has been made to spend a night in Laughlin on our drive back to Texas from Las Vegas. I am looking to book one night but have never been there. According to the room calendar I can get most of the room types comped. What would be the best room to choose? Thanks for any help or tips.

One thing is for certain, avoid the North Tower. It has the worst condition rooms, and at times has 15 minute waits for elevators. The South tower is billed as the Adult Tower, but I've still seen families in that one. It is the most centrally located, but the elevators let you out into the smokiest part of the entire casino. Also, it has the least amount of river view rooms. That leaves my favorite, the Central Tower, which is just off the non smoking casino, and the elevator bank is right near the Diamond Lounge and the Range Steakhouse. About half the rooms in that tower have river views.

With all that being said, my experience is that the room type you "reserve" is just a preference, and which room you really get assigned is very often determined by availability at check in. I suppose if you have a suite reserved, that might be more firm than a regular room type reservation.

Thanks zignerlv for the info. I'll shoot for the central tower.
