Thinking about going to Gatlinburg. How far is this Casino from there? Anything I need to know would be appreciated. Heard it was hard to get there from Gatlinburg. I can get comped rooms.

I would pull up google maps. That would help.

There is road (441) up and over the mountain from Gatlinburg to Cherokee. Very pretty, but slow winding drive. Have done it a few times. In bad weather, it will be closed and the alternate route is about 2 hours. Pretty much a full casino resort.

Nostress hit everything major. We have driven this road dozens of times. It takes about an hour with no stops, but the views are spectacular so I recommend stopping at lookout points if you drive it during the day.

You didn't say when your going, but make sure you know the recent weather. Cherokee and Gatlinburg may not have snow, but 441 can be 20 degrees colder at the top.

The Cherokee casino is very expansive and has a food court plus a Ruth's Chris and a Brio Italian place. The buffet is much improved from the old days when it was downstairs.

The creek tower is the newest, but I've honestly never had a bad room.

Although I think the odds in Cherokee are some of the worst in the nation, the facility itself is one of the nicest. The art, decor, and setting really makes it good destination.

The drive over the mountains from Gatlinburg to Cherokee can sometimes be very slow. But, it is a great drive with some spectacular views. Never had a bad room at Cherokee.

Cherokee is my "home" casino, never have a problem getting rooms (7-star) like others here never had a bad room and even got a suite once on a slow weekend. Have had some luck on slots here and there, but not alot lol

I hate Cherokee with a passion. I would rather drive 7 hours to Biloxi or fly to Vegas. No comped drinks, tight slots, poor odds etc.
