    Hi,

My husband and I were thinking about taking a trip to Harrah's Ak Chin in Arizona. I was wondering in anyone has been to this casino and if you can give me any information. Also is it a far drive to Sedona?

    Thank you!

Google Maps says two and a half hours to Sedona from Ak Chin Casino. That's really all I have to contribute to this thread. Lol.

We stayed there on a drive from LV to Tucson, just overnight, but we really enjoyed our stay. They put us up in the new tower and the room was beautiful. Casino is not huge but we had fun playing there. However, it is literally in the middle of nowhere. You are basically out in the cornfields but Phoenix is not a very long drive. We did some of the NP's in the southern part of the state like Saguaro, Chiricahua and visited Tombstone and Bisbee so it was basically just a stop along the way. Sedona is beautiful but I wouldn't make Ak Chin a destination.

If you play golf, it has a "Top 100 You Can Play" course that was renovated last year. I'm hoping to get out there on one of my next Arizona trips.

No craps or roulette here in Arizona, which is ridiculous. If you're going to allow gambling, allow gambling. I live not that far from there. It's sleepy, but Phoenix is great and Sedona is always amazing.

Thank you for the responses....we have some friends in Chandler Arizona and was thinking to take a trip there and maybe do a trip to Sedona with an overnight stay. Since it is only 2.5 hours that would be worth it. I saw a picture of the pool online and that looked really nice. I also like the National parks and it is good to know that they are not to far.

    Have a wonderful day!

If you are I'm Chandler, there are 4 casinos within 20 minutea of you... you don't need to go all the way to AKChin if you get the gambling itch.

If you get comped rooms from CET then ak chin is a nice enough casino if you are able to book it. The rooms are great. The pool was updated and is beautiful. You can walk to a new movie theater and bowling alley and thats it. As mentioned golf is somewhere, not a golfer myself
The hotel sells out often all year.

As already stated, it's in the middle of nowhere. The tower rooms are nice. The rooms by the pool are older. The casino isn't that big but the table dealers are very friendly. It's about 20-30 minutes south of Chandler and Sedona is 2.5 hours going north. There isn't much else to do around the casino but 30 mins drive north is metro Phoenix. If you're staying there a few days, then Sedona is definitely a nice full day trip. Suggest leaving early in the morning to beat the rush hour morning traffic in Phoenix.
